***The official University of Michigan Chances Thread:***

@uofmPlease Bring up your ACT to ~33 for a decent chance from OOS. However, it is not very likely achievable.

Why does Michigan’s view book and even when I visited them they said that a 28+ was decent on the ACT, even though 28 was in the lowest quartile??

These numbers are taken from multiple websites:

ACT Composite: 28 / 32

30 average
28-32 range of middle 50%

The average ACT score at University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (UM) is 29, which is 8 higher than the average for all Colleges and Universities

Are these numbers just outdated??

@uofmPlease those numbers are from multiple outdated and unofficial website. Why not just use the official site for admission stat?
For 2014, the ACT Composite mid 50 IS 30 / 33, period.

@billcsho‌ Are you a current student?

@blimab‌ UM looks at you unweighted GPA and will then look at your individual grades throughout your hs career and will average them as
A+,A,A- = 4
B+,B,B-= 3
C+,C,C-= 2
D+,D, D-= 1

@crazyfrog821‌ UMich LSA should be a mid to high match for you. Your GPA is right at the admission average while your ACT is very good.

Sorry for being vague

@combatbebe UMich LSA would be a low reach for you from in state. Your ACT is 3 points below the 25th percentile while your GPA is also below average. Try to bring up your GPA and ACT.

@Hawkace Your GPA is below admission average particularly for CoE. Your ACT is good. But for Ross and CoE that both have low admission rate, they would be very high match to low reach for you from OOS. Do give them a try though.
