@rjkofnovi‌ - With all due respect, you completely miss my point. It isn’t a matter of being an expert on admissions data for any school, it is a matter of understanding significant digits and accuracy. What billcsho said to that member was fallacious because he doesn’t have data accurate enough to make the statement he did. Simple as that, but he doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge it. I am simply asking him to be more accurate in his statements in the future, and to recognize the limitations of the data he is using from Michigan. It really is hard to argue with, since obviously the Michigan data is only accurate to the tenths place as reported, and the member reported their data to the hundredths place. If the member had rounded the same way Michigan did, billcsho never would have made the statement he did. If you think that is nitpicking, so be it. But people on here are known for often taking statements quite literally, and so his comment was somewhat misleading. Any professor of math or science would support me on this, because it is incredibly basic.

Now if you don’t mind, let’s keep this on topic.

I came here in mifdle school from Shanghai. I hope I get into UM, I can’t imagine myself being at MSU.

@fallenchemist‌ Well you basically attacked @billcsho‌ for his opinion from the beginning, without offering much to the table anyways. You may be more courteous of your last post here, but your posts before to @billcsho‌ certaintly weren’t respectful. @billcsho‌ is one of the most knowledgeable posters here, and his info and analysis is basically always on the dot. You could’ve been a lot more respectful in your replies. Anyways, isn’t this an issue better brought up by Alexandre instead?

@wyshi97‌ Don’t worry about it. It’s more about what you do rather than where you go :)

@YellowWolverine‌ - I have no idea what you mean by that last line, but that’s OK. For the record, I didn’t attack anyone, and I certainly wasn’t talking about billcsho’s opinion, but his lack of accuracy which led to a comment about someone’s GPA being lower than average, which is just wrong. You cannot compare a 3.9 to a 3.88 and say the 3.88 is lower. You can if they had published it as 3.90, but they didn’t. That isn’t opinion, it is a plain and simple fact. I have no idea why this is still being discussed. I think we all studied significant figures in high school.

Moral of the story, take everyone’s chance replies with a grain of salt, then we can all be happy and conflict free

I’ve decided. I’ll get Purdue for sure. I have a feeling that I’ll get UofM, but if my feeling is wrong, I’ll go to Purdue. MSU doesn’t have a good chemical engineering program as compared to Purdue and I don’t want to see my “ex-lover” there anyway. The thing is though. I had depression and was hospitalized in the beginning of high school. I didn’t really get involved in extra-curricular deeply until junior year. I couldn’t fit in when I came here in middle school and that kinda screwed me. I knew it was my fault for not being involved but I couldn’t help depression you know ?

@uofmPlease Your GPA is below admission average while your ACT is a couple points below 25th percentile. UMich LSA would be a reach for you from OOS.

@billcsho. I assume because you didn’t reply you don’t have much insight into nursing admissions? My daughter had me post her stats. You seem to have really good insight generally

@Jara123 Indeed I have little information about Nursing school admission. I only know one former student and one former staff from there, but their info should be outdated already.
