***???

why lead me along with all of these mailings and then waitlist me!!!

you(washu adcoms) do not understand the backlash that you have created. Instead of accepting qualified applicants you play the US NEWs ranking game!

You are only doing a disservice to your institution by not taking in the most qualified applicants! Good luck with that.

unbelievably angry and confused. mostly worried, i couldnt care less about washu, but now i have a feeling that i wont get into any of my reach schools…i was kind of expecting an acceptance from washu, how stupid i was. im going to be dying until i get letters back from chicago, dartmouth, amherst, rice and pomona… if none of those is an acceptance i really dont know what ill do…i may sound selfish, but i thought i deserved it…

i think maybe the fact that so many people from my school applied, i think around 10, all highly qualified, didnt help. also the white out on my app probably didnt impress them too much either.

ha ha, maybe you should have dumbed yourself down so that they would have accepted you

imagine the paradox, instead of trying to make yourself look smart to get into a school you have to make yourself look as if you would not have a shot anywhere else

I totally understand that people are mad and confused about why they got waitlisted but that doesnt mean you have to bash other people and say the kids who got in are not as qualified and all have lower scores. First of all there is so much more than just scores that play a role in admissions. and it’s just like at all the really good schools; there are so many kids who seem qualified and have great scores but they obviously cant take everyone, so they have to pick, it’s just the way it is. if you got waitlisted or didnt get in and you have really great stats it doesnt mean they didnt think you were great, it just happens. and some people are saying that the kdis who got accepted are the ones who probably wont get into other good schools… and that’s not true because washu needs to keep its good reputation with great kids. and i got a likely from dartmouth. also, washu is such a great school, up there with the ivys, but they dont ahve the name recognition, so it’s understandable if they want to improve their numbers

ohhsnapjac, i in no way mean to insult washu or their students. what i meant by washu not being a school i really cared for was not that the school sucks or anything, but that i never actually felt like i would have wanted to attend the school. my list is mainly comprised of LACs. my main reason for applying to washu was the fact that my brother was rejected 2 years ago and my parents wanted me to apply because THEY thought it was a super awesome school.
so congrats to all of you that recieved good news, and the best of luck to those of us waitlisted/rejected!

Definitely excited… got a friend who got in ED here, so it’d be pretty nice if we both ended up here. I don’t know exactly where I want to go yet though (still waiting on decisions from Emory, CMU, Cornell, and Penn (deferred ED, but not definitely a 1st choice at this point)). Anyone think it’ll be possible to haggle with WashU and get some money out of them if Tulane is offering me $22,000+ per year? Because finance is an issue, and I don’t think WashU will give me anything . . .

But either way, I very ecstatic to be accepted!
