The One and Only 06-07 Thread for the Psychos taking AP CALC. GYEA!

I don’t know if there is another thread for AP CALC, well there probably is… but this is the official thread, okay?

post stuff like…

questions/answers from assignments, quizzes, or tests
where are you guys in class, we just started Chapter 4- Application of Derivatives

Our teacher is the worst teacher known to mankind, no joke.

What are the best websites for notes??

In general, how is your overral well-being? Have you gotten jumped yet for taking AP calc, do people thank God b/c they are not taking it like you?

For me, it is a constant reason to die. But I am coping, and I think it’s a pretty cool math, that is of course, when I actually comprend the sh1t.

In addition, my 4.0 gpa is in jeopordy b/c i’m not taking it pass/fail, otherwise im doing great.

P.S. I will get a 3 or higher on the exam in May.

Good luck!

you should call your teacher a third order position derivative if you hate him so much

very, very bad joke coolphreak. very bad =/,

How far is anyone in BC?
I’m on parital fractions.

I’m in IB math higher level. Just wondering, how far are you guys in the AP calculus syllabus? What are you doing now? Which book are you using?

We’re dong integration by parts now. But thats basically the end of integration, I think.

I’m just wondering how the courses compare. I have a friend in the states in AP Calc AB and he just now had a test on integration, max/min points, pts of inflection, etc. not even integration yet! slooooooooowwwwww.

We just did integration by parts today.

we started derivatives of inverse trig functions

optimization

i’m in ab…we just finished applications of derivatives…our last topic we covered was related rates

on to integrals…

We are in series right now. Chapter 8. Why are you guys still doing differential and integration?

Just started the chapter on natural logs -5 in our book.

In BC

We’ve been doing Fundamental Theorem of Calculus…

Started pattern recognition yesterday. (Chain rule for integration)

In AB

We’re doing Fundamental Theorem of Calculus too!!! but its for definite integrals. mostly on that and more practice with u-substitution and all that jazz. moving on to area between two curves and revolution of a solid :)

wow some of you guys are behind. we’re on ch 7 in larson book, volume of washers/disks (revolution of a solid)

heh in multi calc =P im a psycho '05-'06 =)

i took AB last year and really enjoyed it, so i’m in BC this year (i thought i would be more interested than if i was in ap stats)… we basically cov ered oh i’d say 4/5 of the AB curriculum in one month, which was great. we’re on fundamental theorem of calculus now.

AB people-- make sure you’re continuously doing practice long response AP questions… it helps a lot. write out all the steps as if you were doing it on the test. you’ll be so prepared for the real deal.

Chap 4 on the Larson-Hosteller book

I’m taking AB and we’ve been skipping around. I just finished finding the derivitive of an arcsin. I don’t know what I’m doing, my teacher is fresh out of college and has no idea what he’s doing. Do any of you crazy BC people have advice?

self teach. with a good math book, you really don’t need a teacher. at least i dont. i recommend “Understanding Pure Mathematics”. It’s my IB math HL bible, and honestly i just read it while the teacher lectures sometimes cause its a lot more concise and organized.

I was thinking about buying Barron’s, I’ve heard the brand was good. The only problem is that I need someone to explain things to me when I get stuck.
