The Phantom Knitter

I’ve been following this for weeks, took some pictures when I was in West Cape May this weekend. It’s so charming, I had to share it:

We need more people like this. In their own simple way they make the world a better place.

I remember being in Copenhagen Denmark. Sitting about 10 feet into the cold water is a statue of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid. Someone had knit a scarf for her and had wrapped it around her neck to keep her warm. It brought a smile to my face.

Awww… Thanks for the link, garland!

Kajon, that was so sweet  I always smile when someone dresses up the stone folks of the Interurban.

A very artsy town in my neck of the woods got a new art piece showing salmon swimming through the waters of a local river, and for Christmas, someone put little Santa hats on the metal fishes. Closer to the New Year, the Santa hats were replaced with shiny party hats, and the salmon got noisemakers in their mouths :)

Guy down the street from us always puts little knit Santa hats on the grove of deer statues on his front lawn–specially made ones with holes for their little deer-y ears and antlers.
