<p>I’m not really sure about the prestige of the competition, but just a random connection. Joel Bakan, who wrote the book “The Corporation”, was on the same moot team as my dad at the Jessup back in the 80’s.</p>

<p>It’s a fairly big honor to be on your school’s team (I’d say more prestigious than getting to go to most other moot court competitions, but less prestigious than, say, being editor-in-chief of the law review). </p>

<p>The further you get in the competition, the more prestigious it is: if you get to go to the international rounds, that’s big. And if you win, that’s really big.</p>

<p>Of course, it matters more if you plan to go into litigation (especially with an international focus) than it does if you plan to do transactional work.</p>
