The power of college confidential!

I started on here five years ago when my B+ S was looking at colleges and I didn’t know an LAC from OOS. He called today and his name is on the list for graduation in May and he is looking at grad. schools. Trust me his scholarships and options for undergrad were all due to everything I learned on CC from all the wonderful people here. Now my daughter is starting her search, still learning from CC, hope I am helping people at times. Always grateful to everyone!

My S2 got his diploma in the mail last week…woohoo…it’s official…and he did it in four years…and He has a JOB!

I’d just like to thank all the CC’rs who responded with prayers and encouragment four years ago when S2 lost his two best friends in a car wreck just four weeks before leaving for college in 2008… then he all but flunked out of college his first semester…and then his h.s. friend/ college roommate of fresh. and soph. year was killed this past summer. Thank you to all those who responded to my posts with hope, prayer and encouragment. It really helped and now we can celebrate something good for S2. CC’rs are great.

PackMom, a real job for S2 – wahoo!!! Here’s hoping he really likes it and has a smoother path from here. The tragedies he has had to face would knock the wind out of most folks’ sails.

Unbelievable… We needed to replace a “deceased” toilet that someone accidentally damaged (long story, but the bowl cracked)… Browsing the Amazon jungle did not lead to any good results, so I recalled that there was a thread or two here talking about this issue. Surely enough, I found an old thread, and lo and behold, there was link posted by someone from East Coast - a link to my local plumbing shop (!!!) that sells the toilets I was looking for! Wow, CC never ceases to amaze me!

I have gotten so much travel advice from my CC friends. Our trip to Seattle and Washington state when S graduated HS was put together with advice from my CC friends. It was the trip of a lifetime and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I have actually met some CC friends for lunch/dinner, taken them to lunch in my fair city when they came to town for conferences. Although our kids who attend the same college have not really formed friendships, we, the moms, have, and I’m hoping we’ll continue our friendships long after the kids graduate. I live in the Deep South, our kids go to school in the South, but the geographical makeup of these parents are from California to Long Island. Who knew such a diverse group would come together at a STATE FLAGSHIP! Thank you, CC, for the wonderful new friends!

I just joined CC last December. My S is going to NYU in August. Hopefully I will be as lucky as all of you meeting CC friends :)

Congratulations to your son! You’ll find we are wonderful people. :modest blush:
