I’ve compiled sort of a list of SAT and ACT pros and cons:

SAT

PROS:

The essay is at the beginning, when you haven’t started and aren’t thinking about how you’ve done.

The essay topic is more generalized and leaves room for better and more variety of examples.

The essay graders are more lenient and reasonable. (I gots a 9!!!)

No stupid science section. (depends)

You don’t run out of time. (depends)

The types of sections are spread out. (depends)

SAT will add up your highest to make a superscore.

CONS:

YOU HAVE TO SEND IN ALL YOUR PAST SCORES

An experimental section that is annoying.

The types of sections are spread out. (depends)

ACT

PROS:

YOU ONLY HAVE TO SEND IN THE SCORE YOU WANT

The types of sections are separate. (depends)

The essay topic is more easily relatable.

CONS:

The essay is at the end, when you are worrying over what you’ve put and want to leave.

ACT will NOT add up your highest subscores to make a superscore.

There is a science section. (depends)

You run out of time. (depends)

The essay graders are more critical. (I got a friggin 6)

The types of sections are separate.

So, although SAT has more lined up for it, the big CON where you HAVE to send in your score possibly puts the ACT even with it. Also, I made this because I was mad that ACT gave me a 6 on my essay. :(

Feel free to add more to the list if you want.
