I have a friend who uses nipple cream on severely chapped lips- recommended to her by a nurse. Works for her.

It usually has lanolin in it. If you are not allergic to wool/lanolin it is the best. Lanolin is kinda sticky at first, but it will stay on and protect your lips while they heal. It doesn’t rub off. It’s non-toxic and natural and is derived from the sheep’s wool after they are given their haircuts (aka shearing) so no sheep has to be harmed.

Have you tried applying your favorite moisturizer and then topping it with Aquaphor or Vaseline at night? Tried it for the first time yesterday and found a noticeable difference.

Carmex.

New trend to me… yikes. Anybody else thinking “no thanks, but I would like to have my younger self eyebrows again” ?

Just no. How ‘bout we just skip this one and find some other way to make ourselves look ridiculous? Sheesh. I like my eyebrows just the way they are, thank you.

Eyebrows have at least a couple of functions:

I wouldn’t shave mine. No thanks!

What’s a good warm winter destination? We like a combination of relaxation and sightseeing/culture/history. Ideally we could use United frequent flier miles.

Probably very preference-specific, and I’m also not familiar with places west of Colorado, but maybe:

San Antonio / Austin
New Orleans / Baton Rouge
Savannah / Hilton Head
St Augustine

Wife and I just got back from Costa Rica using United miles. We had a great time. Lots to do and the people were great.

Costa Rica.

And if you have the inclination… Cuba. That’s on my bucket list.

@Colorado_mom - had that same question - we are heading to Mexico, in the Riviera Maya area! Definitely a time to think warmer!! :sun_with_face:

Nice area too. Great opportunities to see Chichén Itzá, swim in cenotes, maybe take the ferry to Cozumel…

We are only going for four nights and I’m trying to ensure it is a super relaxing, family time. Hadn’t actually planned on excursions - but if had to pick one would you choose cenotes or Cozumel?

Amazing to snorkel in them - they’re gorgeous and unique!

@Justamom - thank you! Will keep that as an option if seems like more activity is needed!

We did a whirlwind tour of Italy earlier this year (after going to the same sleepy beach town for vacation for 20+ years before that). It was a big jump up and just… a lot! I am super looking forward to some chill family time. Cenotes could be cool tho, thanks again!

We made a private day trip where we went out and toured Chichén Itzá and stopped at a large cenote on the way back. We had lunch along the way. There are shopping opportunities at Chichén Itzá, so you can get a lot done in one day. If you can swing it, I do recommend you take a private tour as you can better control the timing.

Rivet - good to know! Thanks and I will check out some of the tour options/prices. Trying to keep costs low for this trip (hoping to sneak a few other trips in to future retirement-possibilities in 2024- so working on a budget!)

I think you can get all of those things in Hawaii.
San Diego isn’t that warm, but it’s a nice temp and there are lots of things to do.

Yes, I’m a big fan of HI, but then I live here. Haha! Depending on where you’re starting from it can chew up a lot of your time getting to here and then back home.
