Anyone happen to have an easy to make, almost foolproof Bearnaise sauce recipe?

What is the fastest way to get from JFK to Manhattan (Penn or Grand Central). I’d be willing to pay extra for taxi, but traffic delays seem risky. Date/time tbd… this is just a fact finding mission.

Helicopter.

Airtrain to Jamaica Long Island Railroad Station, then train to Penn Station.

Change of plans. Is that helicopter option also available at Laguardia?
Actually I’ve done that trek before, both by taxi (which can have long line) and by shuttle bus.

.

Indeed it is

My sister had good luck getting taxi today at Laguardia, around 11am. She got to her preferred train, with 10min to spare. I have tentative plans to fly there tomorrow and do similar around 2pm. (Dad fell yesterday, fractured his hip - thankfully things are going ok so far).

There’s an NYC transit limited-stop bus that goes from the terminals at LaGuardia to the Jackson Heights subway station where you can get a zillion different trains to Manhattan.

If you are 65 or older you can get a half-fare Metrocard:

And/or, any age, use a credit card to tap in:

Only one fare anyway, as there is free transfer between bus and subway.

Have any of you switched to bar shampoo? Please share your experience and product. TIA.

Lush makes some good ones. Others I’ve tried haven’t given the best results.

No. Some ingredients in my favorite shampoos and conditioners are liquids at room temperature/normal atmospheric pressure. I just buy the most concentrated ones like Oribe or Kerastase. A liter bottle of those lasts me more than a year. Still working though the bottles Oribe I bought in the beginning of the pandemic.

I love the idea of less packaging. But I have not tried it. If I do… will need a way to not mix it up with soap bars.

I tried but all it did was dry my hair badly. My D swears by them, she gets them at Lush.

Was the one you tried from Lush? The others I have tried have either dried my hair or left a build up. The Lush bars are the only ones that were ok for me.

I tried 3 different ones, Lush, a local soap bar maker and one that’s supposed to be specific for gray hair (can’t recall the name, it was second worst, with the one from Lush being the worst) - I want to find bar shampoo and conditioner that will work for me because I have a month-long trip next year and would like to be traveling with them vs liquids.

I also like the idea of concentrated items (shampoo and other stuff). Less packaging, less shipping… good small ways to have smaller environmental impact.

I tried the Trader Joe’s one and didn’t love it. I like the concept for travel.
Edit- might help to give description of hair type. Mine long, color treated with a slight wave. More frizz since menopause.

Gotcha. The Lush one was the best of the ones I’ve tried for me, but I didn’t end up sticking with it. Went back to liquid.
