My youngest and her husband still celebrate their dating anniversary.

What a nice place to celebrate. My kids living in the city have discovered it now.

We do, too. To us, on some level, the date our relationship began is more important than the public celebration of it in marriage.

I always mention the anniversary of our first date, but I’m not sure it’s something to be celebrated. Going bar hopping all night and scarfing down bowl after bowl of chex mix, and later rescuing my drunken roommate in the middle of the night from a frat house after the guy she liked went home with something else. She cried the whole way back… “But I LLLLLOVED HIM!” We still get a good chuckle out of it 32 years later…

Neither H nor I think too much about the anniversary of our 1st date but I bought a poster of the event (an opera) that has the date listed, as well as a key chain that has it listed. I believe it was mid-Feb sometime in mid 1980s. It was a fine date—turned out much better than I had anticipated. Haha!

Our first date anniversary was my 19th BD (‘77), one week after I moved into our dorm at Michigan (he lived on my hall). It was our first kiss, too, with Billy Joel’s You’re My Home playing in the background. It was pure magic. We’ll never forget it, but no one but us needs to know about it or celebrate it.

Our first date anniversary is also my birthday (1980). He didn’t know it was my birthday.

Yes! You cut and pasted to something away from the main website’s home. You can dial it back to the first ***.com. Or is this something you want to share? I use bitly to shorten codes.

We met 42+ years ago and still celebrate our first date anniversary. We met at a Model United Nations conference junior year of college. No one else knows or cares, but we do!

S2 and DIL had their first wedding anniversary and the 3rd anniversary of their first date while they were here visiting. They celebrated both.

It might or might not work. Here is an example.

Let’s say I want to post a link to a pair of sandals I’m in love with (but hate the price ). I did a search of the site and found them:

https://www.nordstrom.com/s/valentino-garavani-valentino-rockstud-espadrille-wedge-sandal-women/6450876?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FAll%20Results&color=204

Cutting to the first .com will bring up the main page of Nordstrom’s site:

https://www.nordstrom.com

Cutting the tracking gibberish starting with the “?” gets you to the product page:

Yes, cutting out everything after “.com” will rarely provide the desired outcome.

I wasn’t sure where to put this query. What are your feelings and/or experience with sling bags?

I got back from a long trip to Japan where I used one for the first time. I’m glad I didn’t purchase the expensive one I had looked at, since I didn’t find it to my liking.

My biggest complaint is how wearing it created a “rub mark” on two of my Athleta shirts. Was it due to the particular sling pack I used? Or was it due to the shirts? Or is it just the ‘to be expected’ nature of the sling bag design?

After I noticed the rub mark on the two shirts I discontinued using the sling pack (except with those 2 shirts) so I’m looking to hear about the experience of others. TIA

Can you share what your sling bag looks like??? And what it is made of?

Wrong thread. Sorry

This is the bag in a light beige color. (Large crossbody bag)

It’s polyester.
And this is one of the shirts:
https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=624860002&vid=1&searchText=Short%20sleeve%20shirt#pdp-page-content

Is the shirt a shirt that snags easy? I have one of those bags and haven’t had any issues . Are you saying it left a mark on the short or just that the bag catches on the shirt?

No snags…it just seems to have rubbed the shirt enough to cause a “roughed up” area across the chest where the strap crosses the body. It’s noticeable enough that I plan on wearing the shirt under other clothes or in the basement when I’m walking on the treadmill. If it was a sweater I might try one of the fabric “pilling” removers (shavers) but don’t think it would work on a wicking shirt that doesn’t have any fluff…if that makes sense.

Tried and true product or method for easily getting black scuff marks off wood floors??

I generally just use a damp paper towel and elbow grease.

Yeah I know I need elbow grease but these are tougher than just water!!
