For the most part, yes. However, the crown will be either cemented on or screw retained. If cemented, there is the chance it may come off, just like any crown. Rare, but it happens. If screw retained, the screw may loosen and you will feel the crown is moving. It will not come off because the dentist (or periodontist) has filled the access hole with a composite filling. You go back to the dentist and have it rescrewed/torqued or the dentist orders a new screw to replace the one that is loose. If either scenario happens, the dentist needs to carefully check your bite sitting up and reduce the areas where you are grinding. You may also be prescribed a night bite guard, so you don’t grind on it while you sleep. As an aside, almost every adult who grinds while sleeping, does NOT make noise.
We used to say implant screws and the crowns last forever. Now that’s tempered to probably, but dependent on your age, which tooth or teeth are replaced, your habits, your home care. Over my career, I restored 1500+ implants. My surgeons now say, if you’re over 70 probably close to 100% success. Under 40, hard to predict the next 50 years. In my personal experience, I’ve had around 40 fail, from failing to integrate initially to 10 years post placement. Most opted for removal and redo, several said not doing it again. So far, all the redoes are successful.
I am signing up for some volunteer work that requires a background check. I just completed the paperwork to allow the background check, including my birth date and SSN. However, my credit is frozen at all three bureaus. Will I need to unfreeze it for them to complete the check??
They should not be able to pull your credit unless you have them explicit permission to do so. Was it included in the language around the background check?
I would question why any volunteer organization would need to pull your credit, and I would want to know why before I allowed it.
Never mind – they didn’t check my credit, only whether I was a criminal, a sex offender, and so forth. I got the report about one hour after I submitted my information.
I have done it and used the oranges to string for Christmas decor! I definitely did it in the oven though I don’t remember particulars about how long at what temp.
@abasket - Thank you. I have a lot of oranges and lemons and thought I would give it a try this weekend. I’m going to grab some limes today too. D2 said she would like some to use these when making cocktails and I had the same thought as you to string them for decorations.
One thing I liked was that after January 1st they still were a fun piece of decor to have out after putting away all the “Christmas” stuff - I would do some simple garland like in front of the kitchen window just for some interest!
Random question … I’ve looked everywhere (online, in stores) for months. I cannot find a shiny, chrome-colored soap dispenser. Anyone have a link or hint?
Our laundry room also serves as a frequent entry point of our home so I am trying to make it look at least a little nice/pretty. Got a new laundry sink and have a shiny chrome faucet.
Would just like a complementary hand soap dispenser but everything is brushed nickel or dull looking. Our washer and dryer are burgundy (why we picked that color I don’t recall!)
Seems like a little thing but I pass by this area multiple times a day and just want it to look kinda nice! Appreciate any tips!
We had one of these and really liked it. Unfortunately, Mr. broke it when we were moving, and I have been dragging my feet to buy another one since the cheapo plastic ones we have been using are still ok.
Thank you, @abasket and @BunsenBurner! That is exactly the finish I was looking for! I may have missed the word “polished” in my search terms.
Was trying to keep a bit on the lower end of price - but will also keep the touchless style in mind when we (finally!) finish our kitchen rehab. We definitely could use touchless when cooking/eating!
I like that, @momofboiler1! I’m becoming resigned a bit that if I want that ‘polished chrome’ look + stay at lower end of price spectrum, I am going to have to include glass. If I have clear soap it should be okay!
Thanks, @islandmama1! Yep, we are redoing kitchen and got new floor in adjacent laundry room (LVP) and replaced the 15 year old peachy yellow wall color with a soft white, and removed any decor. Just want it clean and simple. Hence my extreme focus on this one item, LOL
