I really like the ability that both people in the marriage can drive the Costco rental car and that they will advocate for you if you have any hassles with the car company. It has been useful for us.
My own car. I don’t think we’ve ever rented a car from home, other than if there’s a problem with our car. I actually purchased my current car anticipating it being our “touring car” once I retired. Then COVID happened, and we haven’t done many car trips, but that’s another story.
I think I would like a mini blender (I don’t have a use for a regular blender) that I could use to mix my salad dressings in. I have been using a mini food processor but it doesn’t always blend as well as I would like. I would want a glass attachment to blend in and not plastic. Does anyone have one they like?
Do you have a favorite post shower shower cleaner?? Something you spray on the walls post shower to help keep them clean/enclosed shower smelling fresh??? Store bought or homemade.
My H recently got a Ninja blast mini blender as a gift. I used it a few days ago to make salad dressing and it was great!
“Do you have a favorite post shower shower cleaner??”
Interested is this also, especially something that helps keep the grout clean
We had a shower cleaning thread a while back.
My husband like shower cleaner that you spray after you finish showering and don’t have to clean off. He likes the one where the tube is affixed in from the bottle so you can tip bottle forward and get just drops as you’re using it up. You can make your own with done dawn, water and alcohol, I believe.
It’s called “Tilex Daily Shower,” made by Clorax.
Thanks - I remembered that for the cleaning tool but not a spray.
The Wet and Forget seems popular but just once a week? My husband always showers randomly and sometimes twice a day so if I need to let it sit 24 hours between showers that could be a problem - but I’ll research it more!
We check prices with Costco and autoslash dot com.
We recently had an Enterprise rental (via Costco). Car had a tire losing air (but not to the point the pressure light would come on) and two passengers said it smelled of smoke. We don’t smoke. Didn’t really impact our usage. The house we stayed at had an electric pump so we pumped it up. I didn’t smell the smoke, and I’m sensitive to smells.
I mentioned both issues when we checked in the car because they need to look at the tire, and we didn’t want to get fined for smoking. Agent asked how she could make it right. We weren’t expecting that. H said how about a 1/3 discount. Done.
Big Wet & Forget fan here. I’m pretty sure overnight is enough to let it sit. Once the original scum has been taken care of, I’ve found that every other week is enough for maintenance. Minimizing bar soap also helps.
Random question.
I bought this large pretty Crate and Barrel vase at a home consignment store today ($10!). It’s quite large!
When I got it home I realized there was a sticker on the bottom saying something to the effect of “not for water”.
Right now I’ve placed another vase inside it that doesn’t reach the bottom of the vase - so self contained. Other than filling it with water and seeing if it leaks, what would prevent it from being able to take water? I wasn’t planning to drink out of it!
Might it break down or something??
Does it have glazing on the inside and the bottom? It could be that the material it is made of (terracotta?) is porous, and water may seep through ruining the surface it stands on.
That makes sense - I’ll check it.
The vase inside a vase works fine - but I guess some people are ok with vases without real flowers! I like real!
I’m team real flowers, too!
Some people use empty vases for decor.
Has anyone here bought one of those trendy expensive bras that keep showing up on my social media feed? ( Think , I’m afraid to type the name for fear of being bombarded even more). Thoughts? Worth it or do I have to keep schlepping over to kohls to find something acceptable?
Nordstrom carries that brand. I’d order there because of their generous return policy.
IMO, a good bra is worth spending $$ on. I stick with my tried and proven Prima Donna even though it is $$.
The vase may have a lead glaze. Although you wouldn’t drink it, maybe they are afraid of it spilling and a pet drinking the water?
The other thing I consider is what would become the weight of it once filled with water. It’s tough to tell in the pictures but it looks like it might hold 4-5 gallons (??) which would make it weigh 50 pounds on the off chance someone were to fill it all the way up. Maybe they wouldn’t want to be liable if someone did that, lifted it and either dropped it or it broke. Easier to put a sticker on it than get sued.
A friend brought me a large arrangement from her yard with a lender vase from either pottery barn or crate and barrel, and it did leak a little, but more troublesome, left a purpley blue stain from the bottom of the wet vase.
I think in a future situation, I would line the vase with a large ziplock bag and put the water in that inside the vase along with the flowers/stems.
