Titanium is harder than Stainless Steel. It’s often used as a coating on metal cutting bits. I don’t pretend to be a metallurgist but I don’t see how a titanium cutting board won’t dull knives in short order.

You know they are back, don’t you. I get at least one email a day offering coupons (some things never change). I think it is all online except one retail store in Nashville.

Overstock bought BB&B and the name so they changed their name.

Just wondering if anyone has used a ‘spinal alignment’ pillow? Saw an ad for derila-ergo pillow and was tempted ($60).

My aunt and my cousin use “Cervical pillows” which may be similar, and really like them.

Thank you!

I bought this pillow a couple of years ago when I had eyelid surgery to keep my head from turning. Then I broke it out again a year ago when my neck arthritis started becoming painful and it’s been great.

IMO, you may have to kiss a lot of pillow frogs to find you pillow prince! Here is the one I finally found comfortable: Cushion Labs.

Thank you, Marilyn & Bunsen! I’ve also looked into ‘non-toxic’ cervical pillows (trying to minimized the environment chemicals). That’s a smaller subset within which to find my ‘pillow prince’ lol. Appreciate the options!

I was never a big BB&B fan. Just used to occasionally go in. I bet Home Goods or somewhere like that would have it too.

I never went to the stores much but one Christmas season I bought some cranberry jelly/sauce thing and we (especially my mother) really liked it. It was a seasonal item and of course they were sold out before we discovered how much we liked it. Next year? Nada. Could never find it again.

I should probably unsubscribe from the emails as they do come at least once a week, often more, and it’s unlikely I’d buy anything from them

I have a question about “the cloud.”

To date, I’ve saved nothing in the cloud, although my computer is often prompting me to do so. I haven’t done it yet because I find it hard to believe that it is truly secure – more secure than my actual laptop on which I keep everything. I know the laptop could be stolen or lost or stop working, but I backup my things on an external hard drive.

So why would/should I save things to the cloud??

First of all, “the cloud” is not one thing. It just refers to either running an application or storing data on someone else’s server, not on your physical device, so security depends on the reliability of the company whose services you are using.

For most individuals and businesses, cloud storage is more secure than a home computer or office server due to the scale and sophistication of the professional security and protection practices (such as security teams, encryption, redundancy, and compliance standards) of the main players. The biggest providers adhere to very strict government and industry regulations and provide highly secure storage. The weakest link in any computing chain is usually the user, so security mainly depends on how carefully you manage your accounts.

I worked in tech all my career retiring from one of the largest cloud computing and storage providers. Though not totally invulnerable, “the cloud” is highly trustworthy. We keep nothing on our personal devices.

Where do you go (big box I guess) to print double sided color copies the most economically? Is it cheaper to upload and have them print and you pick up or cheaper to bring a flash drive in and print yourself?

You mean cheaper than printing at home? (Because that’s typically the cheapest option)

I don’t use outside services unless I need to print in bulk or need special paper. And in those cases I use Staples.

At Staples there’s no difference in cost either way. I expect it’s the same at other retailers.

I used to print at local UPS store when I needed 100s of copies or another copy shop that was running a special (I’d compare prices). We bought laser quality printers and now that we rarely need that many copes generally just print at home.

Right. I need minimum 50 copies and that would exhaust my home printer.

The Staples near me charges around $1.50 per page for a double sided color copy.

It might be cheaper to buy a new printer at that price, lol.

Unless you’re doing volumes that would justify offset printing, the typical cost to print a color print is $0.35-$0.45 per image. If there’s high coverage of the page (as there typically is in something that’s going to be printed in color) - it can go up from there.

Think it’s cheaper to do it at home? Look at the costs of those color toner cartridges.

By comparison the cost to do B&W is typically 10% the cost to do color.

Sometimes the UPS store near us would have specials and the price would be low enough that we could just get things there, especially when making 100s of pages.

Because of my nonprofit, we bought a heavy duty printer for our home that sits in our living room. It can easily print 100 pages or more in very little time with rather few resources.

We bought the epson tank printer that just refills with a huge bottle that comes with the printer and is sold in large bottles.
