In other words, it’s a crap shoot?

I’ve had good luck about 6 weeks out in the past couple years. I think the old days of booking well ahead to save money no longer apply unless you are going to a spot with minimal flights and competition in which case it is more likely to fill up quickly. Kayak has a forecasting feature that indicates whether it is a good time to buy or maybe wait.

Google flights will send you notifications when fares change.

D bought a flight HNL to lax, one way a few days before she flew. It was fairly reasonable @undee $300

@VeryHappy, if you can do southwest, and it gets cheaper, they will give you a credit for the amount. You have to use it within a year, but at least it’s something.

Where I’m going Southwest doesn’t fly.

I’m going to Fargo, ND. :open_mouth:

^^^^Yikes.

Anyone have the Fitbit aria2 scale? I can’t get it to sync with my app. Anyone share the scale with another family member ? DH has his set up but I can’t get it to work. He might have to do something on his app and he isn’t home.

H is up to a road trip to Santa Rosa for some Pliney the younger. He hopes the wait will only be a few hours. Any suggestions, hints. I’m not a beer drinker but this might be the time to order my first glass of beer. Thx

Anyone know what’s considered a “good deal” for SiriusXm all access package? I got a 6 month subscription with a new car, and I like it, but want to get a good deal to keep it going. They started out telling me it was 229/yr plus fees and taxes, and quickly went to 119/yr plus fees and taxes (which are a lot, btw - 119 plus fees and taxes makes it 191 total for the year).

Just asked the husband because he went through this in the fall when the free 6 month subscription was ending. They started higher and he eventually got a 1 yr subscription for $99 inclusive of taxes.

Thanks @doschicos. Are you saying he got the all-access package for $100, INCLUDING taxes AND fees?

Cancel with them ( and NEVER give them a credit card- pay by check only so they cant auto-renew) and you can get 6 mos for $25. You may not get the most comprehensive package of stations, but you’ll get plenty.

@1214mom Yes. $99 inclusive. He was somewhat indifferent about continuing. They kept coming down in price and calling back. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could have gotten it cheaper. I think with Spotify and Pandora and the like, they are losing a lot of customers.

Thanks @doschicos, that’s very helpful. My free thing doesn’t expire until May, and given I don’t drive that much, 200 seems high. But 100 sounds good to me.

Just play hard to get.

H calls every year and this year he got $89 --I think inclusive but will need to ask.
He says we are not continuing. Has done so for 5 years. Usually he get $99.

There are many packages with many stations. You don’t need the all inclusive - ask which have the the stations you like best. really- you can get 6 mos all inclusive for $25. And then do it again. No need to pay double that.

What do you think is easier on a cashmere sweater: a gentle handwash and flat dry… or dry cleaning?

I prefer handwashing in baby shampoo with very little to no agititating and then squeeze sweater dry between 2 dry towels and then dry flat. I don’t dry clean as the chemicals make H’s chest hurt and I can’t believe they are good for any of those of us with respiratory conditions.
