The REAL winners/losers: the commercials

Here’s a review FWIW.

[Foals that made you cry, and other Super Bowl ads that stole the show - Yahoo! Finance](http://finance.yahoo.com/news/foals-made-cry-other-super-101600181.html)

Budweiser wins my heart.

Loved the Budweiser one with the Clydesdale, the prom kid with the Audi, and the Doritoes commercial with the goat. That Go Daddy one has to go…Gross!

Oh yes I liked the kid at the prom commercial also. I felt the Go Daddy commercial perpetuated the negative stereotype of smart web site developers being overweight, nerdy and unattractive. So untrue!

Thanks for the link Iglooo. The Paul Harvey/God Made a Farmer/Ram commercial had me boo-hoo’ing all over again, just so good. I had missed half of the Budwiser spot last night, another tearjerker. Loved the taco-bell, didn’t expect too. The Audi spot was super without going over the top. Go-Daddy was just way too uncomfortable. The Samsung (Paul Rudd/Seth Rogen) was just okay, as was the Best Buy Amy Poehler, and Doritos…good, but nothing memorable for the super-bowl. Coke totally dropped the ball, what the heck was that?!

While the Tide, Clydesdale and Taco Bell were my favs on TV…
following @oreo on twitter during the blackout was literally my favorite “free” publicity

My H and I both HATED the godaddy one…it actually turned my husband’s stomach (and then they repeated it???)

Beyonce killed it…(and Donnie Deutsch, if you are stalking, you are showing your age this morning ; you’re nuts)

I thought the Rudd/Rogen commercial was terrible.

I thought Beyonce was terrible. Yeah, she’s one of the most beautiful women in the world- and that was about it. I don’t think she ever actually sang during the first song. I don’t need to see her f*ing the air. Sorry. It really looked like a glorified strip show. While I think there’s nothing wrong with strippers or stripping, it’s not what I want to watch during the Superbowl.

GoDaddy accomplished what it wanted. It got people talking, like usual.

I liked the VW commercial too.

My favorites were the VW commercial and the Budweiser with the Clydsdales. I must have missed the Doritos and the Tide commercials. Will have to look those up onlin I guess.

Wow, guess people either love Beyonce or clearly don’t! I thought she was great - great voice, great entertainment factor - but I love the whole dance concept. Beyonce is about shaking her booty and she does it well - and for the most part, I thought pretty cleanly (meaning not vulgar).

After the inauguration fiasco, I feel pretty sure there would be no lip synching last night. In fact, because it was live, that’s why at times, she was either dancing OR singing.

My favorites were: Amy Pohler/Best Buy, Century 21 ad where groom faints when he learns he’s going to live with his MIL, Clydesdales, and Mercedes ad with Willem Dafoe as the devil tempting the young guy to sell his soul for a Merdedes.

The Oprah and Paul Harvey narriated commercials were definitely worth it. And then the product was sneaked into the end of the commercial. I don’t even remember what they were about. But anyway, I liked the dad in the baby backpack walking like a champ in downtown, getting checked out by the ladies. I watched it online, so I don’t even know if it was actually a superbowl commercial.

Thanks, dstark. I actually was thinking of you yesterday because I was out for my third walk of the day, and I remembered how you said you love to walk. I do, too, but I don’t seem to do it as often at home as I do here.

Alwaysamom, Three walks in a day? Awesome.

Just so we don’t hijack this thread…

I don’t watch this show…but Walking is in the title. :)

[Video - The Walking Dead - Super Bowl Commercial - Dallas TV | Examiner.com](http://www.examiner.com/video/the-walking-dead-super-bowl-commercial)

The GoDaddy commercial was awful…but…how many webhosting services can you name? (I was also bemused in thinking about why this commercial is so awful–we’ve seen lots of TV shows and movies in which an unattractive guy ends up with an attractive woman. Is it just because this was so blatant?)

Loved the Budweiser Clydesdale horse commercial, the farmer one was good too!

Beyonce was fantastic! What a show!

Loved, loved, loved the clydesdale! Always love Amy P. Loved the old folks having fun after busting out of the retirement home. Surprising (to me) trend for longer ads at that price point! Sadly, the Dorito goat reminded me of my own insatiable dog, but I liked the ad.
Did not like Go Daddy or Samsung (which is odd because I have a crush on Paul Rudd).
We, in MN, don’t really see why the VW guy was from MN. Perhaps we are considered the opposite of easy going and relaxed? I thought it was amusing, but missed the MN bit. Mayde my sense of humor is frozen from the cold…

For me it was the close up and the sound effects. Just nauseating.

The Go Daddy kissing sound effects made me cringe. It’s like watching and listening to people who make smacking sounds while they eat. Perhaps the ad could have played some background music instead like maybe Lion King’s “Can You Feel the love tonight?” or Celine Dion’s “Power of Love,”

Cause I’m your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I’ll do all that I can

Or Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One,”
*Looks like we made it
Look how far we’ve come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we’d get there someday

They said, “I bet they’ll never make it”
But just look at us holding on
We’re still together still going strong

You’re still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You’re still the one I want for life
You’re still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You’re still the one I kiss good night….*

Sorry I got carried away singing a Shania Twain song. Best way to forget the Go Daddy smacking kissing sounds.

Were there sounds when Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were kissing in “Silver Linings Playbook?” I posit that even if they were, we wouldn’t be nauseated by that.
