The REAL winners/losers: the commercials

this is a compliment, right??

I kid

The ick factor was cleverly manufactured. Two people who were seated side by side, in fully lit room, who did not appear to know each other/have a relationship turn and lip lock in an intimate go-at-it kiss. There was no romantic lighting, setting, build up or easy chemistry between them. The sound effects, prolonged static close-up of the too-long kiss and lack of expertise on the part of the young man well set up the awkwardness as the viewer was thrust into the role of unhappy voyeur, while the announcer droned on. The shock “humor” also comes from a national tv ad filled with such “passionate” actions while this normally sexy/romantic/loving “act” was (haha) actually a cold corporate analogy. But I agree, part of the gross out for me was watching these poor actors forced to make fun of the unattractive young man–the brunt of the cruel joke really.

what would a baby between harry potter and fat albert look like?
(hint: godaddy)

I’m a terrible person…

That “poor” actress is Bar Rafaeli - one of the highest paid models in the world. She dated Leonardo DiCaprio and was the cover girl for a SI swimsuit issue. She doesn’t do anything she doesn’t want to do.

go daddy one was awful.

I read that when they filmed that kissing commercial they did 45 takes.

Bar Rafaeli looked a little bit fat in that commercial. She must not be very disciplined. I bet she eats more than once a week. :)

This completes the sentimental journey.
