<p>I really enjoyed it. There are so many levels; yes, you couldn’t just read it through. But I admit, it did get repetitive.</p>
<p>It was nothing compared to some of the other books I had to read such as The Awakening</p>
<p>Hands down, the most painful reading experience I have ever had. What made it worse was all the work and discussion we had to do for the first few weeks of school, while the other teacher had it done in the first week because she hated the book too. Sigh.</p>
<p>The ideas behind the symbolism wasn’t too bad, but I can’t stand Hawthorne’s writing. The Custom House was just…I can’t even describe how painful it was to get through it.</p>
<p>I did enjoy The Crucible, though.</p>
