@tx5athome, funny how she is fav of a lot of guys. I wonder why that would be?

Serena is ENGAGED?!?!
I didn’t even know she was serious with anyone since Common.
Watching your yesterday’s night session from Perth and I’m recording today’s matches in Brisbane. So happy 2017 season is underway. Are you going to HC again this year?
ps- am very jealous of beautiful weather your having!
Hey, eb, we moved from Perth in October…gutted to not see Roger! And the weather looks amazing, judging from all my friends’ Facebook pictures!
You moved from paradise!?!?
Are you back in the states or still abroad?
Back in the States; my H retired…won’t miss the long flights but I do miss Perth!
I hope you’re not some place where you’re tired of snow already!
Ha! I picked my screen name when we were living in Alaska - hopefully I won’t see THAT much snow this year (Virginia). I haven’t quite gotten used to the TV schedule so I haven’t seen any tennis in a while - I will miss being able to watch the Aus Open in real time (although they only showed the Aussies!).
Hopefully not!
You can watch in real time a good portion of the day session which starts at 7p our time. I watch until I fall asleep, then the rest during the next day. Espn’s broadcast can be very American sided (with the exception of Roger, Rafa, Djoker and Maria) though they’ve gotten better since none of the Americans on the men’s side are going to be slam winners anytime soon. On the women’s side one must hope that the Williams are on the same side of the draw so one day is less American-centric. But the good news is that they stream every match from every tv court live and they are all archived, too. Tennis Channel covers the 7p-9p window and repeats a good chunk of matches the next day.
Except for Darren Cahill, our announcers are horrid and never shut up. It’s constant chatter and most of the time not even about the match (they love to talk about when they were playing.) They also cut away from matches constantly to do interviews. It’s extremely annoying. The online stream comms are much better and some courts have no commentators at all.
Matches the next few weeks are all on TC but they arent covering any of the women’s tourney because the WTA gave BeIn the rights - and that’s all online streaming. I’m not sure if that’s for all women’s tourneys or just the internationals (lowest points) ones.
This week Brizzy starts at 7:30p and I think they go to HC when ladies matches are on in Brizzy. They also repeat their full coverage the next day.
Correction to above re BeIn Sports Channel. Just did a bit of checking it out and if your provider is listed there will be a TV Channel. I had no idea but apparently they do for my cable provider.
Thanks, emilybee; I’ll try to find some matches. (I love Darren Cahill!)
TC finally showed Roger on tape delay this afternoon - though it was streamed live on TC Plus.
He looked good and moved really well. No signs of rust after long lay off.
The comms (it was Channel 7’s broadcast) said it was largest crowd ever for HC match - 13,500.
Yay for my lovelyLucas! Down 0-5 in 1st against Simon and came back to win match 7-6 7-6.
Watched Serena lose to Madison Brengle last night.
She looked awful, slow, and fat. And Nike needs to stop putting her in pleated skirts. She was up 4-1 in first set and lost it 6-4 and in 3rd set double faulted on match point to lose it 6-4. Needed a tb in 2nd set to win that.
Brengle and her coach were hysterical though!
“Should I play even uglier on the return?”
“I think she’s surprised at how bad I am.”
Upsets galore on women’s tour this week.
OTOH, top guys keep chugging along - except for Fed who lost to young Zverev - but since it’s HC doesn’t really mean much, imo.
I’m really liking BEIN Connect’s online streaming. They’ve been showing matches from Shenzhen, Brizzy. Doha and Auckland this week. Only thing missing is replay, but no time for that anyway.
Nice win for Dimi in Brizzy. Nicer still it was over the Robot.
Wouid be nice if Dimi couid be in the conversation this year…
KaPlish easy winner over Cornet in about 50 minutes. 6-0; 6-3 iirc.
Here are ESPN experts picks for all GS in 2017.
Will be interesting to look back at the end of the year.
Not much love for Stan or Canuckatronic or Keys in those predictions. And what about Puig? Just kidding. This should be an interesting year. Bring it on!
Whatever Atkin is smoking, it cannot be legal. From never winning the AO or the French, or winning more than one major in a calendar year, to completing the calendar slam, a feat that not even Federer, Nadal or Djokovic have managed to accomplish. The first piece of the puzzle will be in place in 3 weeks.
^ I know. That’s why I posted it. Will be fun to go revisit at the end of the season. And how about the one picking the Shrieker for RG!?!
Lol@Puig. Another random lowly WTA player having the week of her life then never doing another thing the rest of her career.
Right now I think KaPlish is the most dangerous player on tour and it looks like she is going to be much smarter about her schedule. She pulled out of Sydney after winning Brizzy. Last year she wouid have played it. And she hired Kotyza as her coach. Smart move.
