I had those seats in Louie last year but by the second match on they were in full sun. We kept moving up (our seats were middle of that section) but we eventually had to move over to the left in an unreserved section. We had no trouble getting seats.
I think they would make have made a big deal on broadcast if it was “last match played” on Grandstand so just did a google and it seems this year will be it’s last. Then it will get torn down, along with Louie - which will only be partially finished for '16.
Thanks @tx5athome. I don’t think I can order reserved seats in LA - website makes it sound like they are spoken for ahead of time by last year’s occupants. I did put down a deposit in seats in Ashe and booked a hotel, pretty excited. I’ve always wanted to attend a Slam.
I was surprised Almagro played as well as he did. He’s been out with an injury for months and looked dreadful at the exo in Dubai.
So far best matches have been the late night mens. Querry blew another 5 setter though IMO Pospisil should never have even let it go give. Monfils and the young French boy was extremely entertaining. I felt bad for the young lad when he got broken in his last service game. Made a complete hash of it.
Was nice to see LLegs win one more match for the home crowd.
Vika and Caroline both looked so thin to me! Lleyton’s press conference was pretty sad - I don’t usually see him so deflated. Then they showed him walking out to his adorable waiting family. I guess everyone’s waiting for him to say the “R” word - but in the conference he said it would be great to wait until Kyrios (sp?) and Tomic got into the top 10/20, then he could coast along for some good wins in Davis Cup.
Channel 7 also said he’ll be joining them in the booth for commentary. I think last year he did a pretty good job.
I didn’t. They ended the broadcast after Hewitt’s match and I didn’t feel like watching it online. Sam should just stop playing the AO. It never ends well for her.
Vika is definitely thinner. She looks so much better then last year and even though her yellow kit is eye blinding, it’s a huge improvement over that sacky top Nike had her in last (American) summer. Sunshine, looks the same. I think the ruffles she wore all last year made her look fatter than she is.
Just finished watching yesterday’s day session. Shocking loss by Roger. Seppi played match of his life and Roger’s FH was dreadful. I have to recenter and decide who I am going to pull for to win it all. Definitely not Djokerdalray or Raonic.
