Fantastic match by Roger and Maron (feel bad for him, did you see Goran with his head in his hands…) As was Tsonga-Murray - too bad for Jo Willy in the 5th.
Would so love to see Roger send Milos packing.
Meanwhile who predicted Berdych would get this far - what?

Berdych is a world beater against non-“big 4” players. But against the likes of Djokovic, Federer, Murray and Nadal, he folds. If memory serves, Berdych has made it to several semifinals in the past. He was also the runner up in the 2009 or 2010 Wimbledon. The Raonic vs Federer match could be interesting. Murray should dispatch Berdych in straight sets.

Rooting for Fed and Berdych in the semi’s. Hoping Raonic doesn’t give Roger too much trouble.

Me too. #BEL18VE

I’m betting on a Federer-Murray final. In which case, I’ll be happy no matter who wins.

I am so depressed!!!

Adding this to long list of matches that I will never watch the 5th set. :frowning: Even having lovelyCarlos in his camp couldn’t make me watch it. :frowning:

I’m going to go back and search for some drool worthy tennis totty who dwell in OuterCourtLand and never make it past a 3rd round. It’s infinitely less painful.

Hope you didn’t bet much!

Ha, yes. But now my allegiance is clear. Go Andy! A Raonic - Berdych match would be about as exciting as the Cilic - Nishikori US Open final.

I am depressed too…not even sure I’ll watch tomorrow. Seeing that 4th set slip away from Roger, when he had been in control, was terrible. He looked so disappointed as they walked off the court.

Serena on the top of her game pretty much beats anyone else on the top of their game. Kerber played very well today. Serena just played better.

Done and Done for number 22

It was a great match. Both players played at the tops of their games.

Very happy for Serena! Watching the Women’s Doubles now. Lots of amazing rallies.

I will be rooting for Milos today…if only to see Johnny Mac’s reaction! Hehe! I like Murray, but I also like Raonic. Neither plays the kind of tennis I enjoy, but Murray is clearly very polished and Raonic is much improved, particularly his backhand and his net game. It would be nice to see Raonic win a major.

I really hate Murrays tennis manners. He’s so impolite and rude. He needs to learn etiquette. Just awful. I dislike Murray simply because of that. Raonic has perfect etiquette compared to him.

While I really wanted Federer to win, I very much like Murray and Raonic’s games. @Alexandre I am curious re what kind of tennis you do enjoy? Murray has a lovely all court game and while Raonic has built his game around his huge serve (as is logical for someone his size) he is clearly working hard to add the finishing touches to his all court game as well.

Murray has certainly been awfully grumpy and poorly behaved in the past, but this generally seems to be improving. I thought his speech at the awards ceremony was heartfelt and amusing. Milos also handled himself remarkably well throughout the match and in his remarks. I may be slightly biased as I know his mom Judy a bit and she is both an extraordinary coach (particularly of the youngest players) and a truly kind and down to earth person. I am very happy for her…Watching your kid - even if they are a top pro - is so nerve wracking. She must be relieved.

On a side note, the Canadians are really doing it right on the player development side. As noted on the broadcast their juniors are performing really well on the international stage. We should pay a little more attention to what they’re doing up there if we want to get a few more Americans not named Serena to the top!

I don’t know how Roger lost to this guy.

It’s odd that Andy seems to be the nicest guy off the court but yells profanities on the court. I’ve seen him sign more balls for kids than the other players, pose for pictures, etc. But I’ve also heard him rhymes with ‘duck’ on the court.

I am glad he won.

This guy is now actually a pretty good grass court player. It is Andy who made him look average.
Andy returns and defends much better than Roger. A nightmarish match-up for Raonic.
