I’m taking Kerbs over Petros and Rafa vs Murray. Slowish surface, breezy, I’m liking Nadal, plus there’s no way a Scot beats a Spaniard in that bullring of a tennis court. Olé!
Both Angie and Petra are playing really well. I’m actually shocked how well Petra is playing on this slow as molasses court.
I’d like to see Rafa win the gold just because he’s had a crap few years and VB is a twit.

I will be rooting for Del Potro. I like his game, and he has really had a hard time. If Nadal beats him, I will root for him to win the Gold.
I forgot JMdP was still in the tourney! I’ll pull for him over Rafa, too.
Great doubles play last night! I am rooting for Rafa today, naturally lol but will be happy still for del P if he can pull it off.
Great that the US got gold and silver in mixed!
Can’t say I’m surprised with outcomes except for Puig winning - that was a shocker even though she played great all week.

I was rooting for Del Proto, but am happy for Andy Murray. I apologize that I am very new to this thread so haven’t read it, but I know many much-more-knowledgeable-tennis-fans than me who don’t care for Murray. What am I missing?
He’s a twit and I, along with many others, can’t stand his constant whining on court.
^ Credit where credit is due, he corrected the idiot reporter who said that Andy is the only tennis player to have earned two gold medals.
I like Murray. He is very nice in person.
Del Potro had too draining (physically and emotionally) a path to the final to beat a Murray who had a far easier draw and was therefore far fresher. Still, it is great to see him playing so well. Hopefully, he, Nadal and Djokovic can remain healthy and Federer will return later this year to make a strong run in 2016.
I don’t like Murray because he can act very bratty on court and will start yelling at his box.
Between watching the Oly’s and all the rain delays in Cincy it’s hard to follow any of the matches. Stans down a double break to some random American and Bouchard got handed another bagel in 2 set lose to Barbora - fresh off her bronze metal doubles win in Rio. Isner won against the Fog in a match Fog looked like he was mailing in. It was so bad they agreed to finish with Isner up and serving for match while it was still raining - after stopping for a bit at 30-0. Fog was mentally already on a plane out of Cincy.
In good news - the USTA gave a USO WC to JMdP. His year with protected ranking is up so he’d have to play qualies if they didn’t give him a WC.
Good for the USTA. I heard the Olympic tennis commentators speculating about this. He is a fan favorite and a former US Open champion, JM Del Potro deserved the wild card.
Probably jinxing her but Angie is one win away from becoming #1.

I sold some of our first week tkts so only going Tues/Weds and Labor Day weekend.
First few days look very hot but a bit of a cool down on the weekend.
And now that there is a roof no rain forecast through the 4th.
