Djokovic is good enough from the baseline that if he can just get his serves in, he’s still going to win most of his service points probably.

Thinking maybe Roger didn’t play so he didn’t have to wear that hideous yellow Nike has everyone wearing…

Yeah, I’m not into this neon trend - the dayglo pink, yellow, green, orange.

Some of the guys yesterday were wearing Lacoste which I liked, a kind of retro look reminiscent of the old Fila style. It looks really sharp. Couldn’t find it on their website though.

Roger would not have had to wear the neon yellow. Nike asks Roger and Rafa what they would like to wear, not the other way around.

Steve Johnson! What an effort!

As well they should. Can you imagine Anna Wintour’s reaction to Roger in neon yellow? No, no, no!!!

Well, Del Potro was in all his neon glory including socks and wrist bands. I know monochrome is in but…

I don’t like the Adidas pink and yellow, I don’t like the Nike neon yellow but I really don’t like Stans red/pink outfit. We are going tomorrow. Thanks for the tips. Last year we gave my sister our bags (she has a press pass and goes in a separate entrance) and we went in the no bags line. Hopefully they have their act together tomorrow.

Feli looked lovely in Ellesee and thank you Adidas for bringing back see through shorts and Domi Thiem for wearing them.

Nike kit for the minions is tragic.

My tin of Altoids made it through security witches.

Patio Cafe is still my top choice for grabbing bite to eat but might try the Oyster Bar tomorrow.

How was the line to get in today for you, @emilybee?

The top players are all looking good. Djokovic is taking it slow, but I suspect he is close to 100% fitness-wise. His wrist did not seem to bother him. His elbow is not a concern, probably just cramped a little. I am concerned about his slower-than-usual serve, but that may be just precautionary at this time.

All the top seeds looked good. I was especially pleased with DelPo’s game. Wawrinka looked sharp. Nadal looked impressive in his first round match, as did Murray. Cilic is peaking at the right time. My fellow countrymen, Tsonga and Monfils played well too. I was disappointed with Gasquet’s early loss, but Kyle Edmund is young and rising quickly.

Lines werent awful but we went in the south gate -which are never as bad as the east gate.

@Alexandre, Gasquet is just coming back from an injury, iirc, so loss not surprising.

I recall reading about that. Makes sense. I love Gasquet’s backhand. And he lost to a Brit of all things! Hehe!

We arrived at 10:30 AM. I went through the “no bag” line and it took less than 5 minutes. My Mom went through the regular line and it maybe took 10 or 15 minutes. The new Grandstand is great. We are eating lunch inside in the air conditioning at the US Open Club (behind the patio). Lots of food and drink options at the Grandstand. So much fun!

Glad the line issues got worked out and others are getting in much quicker now.

The Tin Man seizes up! Good win for Harrison the Elder.

^A great day in TennisWorld.

Had a great time yesterday despite the rain delays. Tried out a few racquets on the Wilson court in the American Express Experience, took a picture with a giant tennis racquet in the USTA bookstore and took a picture on a couch made of tennis balls. Wawrinkas outfit looks better in person than on TV (but still not great). We left just as the Mets game got out, so the 7 express train was running which saved us some time.,

Glad I was home this afternoon and could watch the Madison Keys comeback. I really enjoy her.

How about Jack Sock taking out Cilic in straight sets?!

Sock is having a good year, first with the Bronze medal and now with some stellar playing this week.
