good luck guys. I don’t work in admissions but as far as I can tell, the secretaries there aren’t told the insiders’ stuff. the dad might’ve gotten through to a higher-up.

I hooe they hold up to this. Cause everyone in the other forum is saying that they called and it would come by Sunday. They should have just sent us a mass email that things were running late.

I just called. (They have classical hold music.) She said “You should be getting something this week.” Of course, I think they’re just told to say that. Or perhaps they only give the real information to people who don’t sound like incredibly anxious high-schoolers.

My last name starts with a J (hence, BLJ) so I may not be sleeping tonight.

I’m C. Hopefully, I’ll get it soon…ahhhh…good luck everyone!!! I’m still in class…I get out in 2-3 hours.

Thank you so much!!
So excited.

I started this thread using last year’s template. Good luck to everyone. Fingers crossed.

Please share your info for future applicants in the waiting torture chamber. Thanks again.

G’luck everyone!

Y!
WHY AM I A Y!
…aas;dlfkjas;lgkha.
not going to school tomorrow -.-

Central or Eastern Time?

I’d think it’s Central time, if the information came from someone in Chicago.

Yeah, that’s what I was assuming. So 6 PM it starts for the East. I’m listening to The Final Countdown right now, by the way.

good luck nw EDers! i’m applying RD. if anyone gets deferred, you should join the thread i’m making for RD students!

does anyone know how legitimate this information is? I just don’t want everyone getting their hopes up only to be crushed that they didn’t hear by 8 in the morning. However, I think it would be funny to see that if anyone says that their contract is technically no longer intact due to the fact that Northwestern hasn’t released acceptances/rejections on/before the assigned date.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I do not think that we would be legally required to uphold the contract if the other side failed to.

Ah crap. I’m a Y, so I won’t be getting it til tomorrow morning I assume.
I also have an app due tomorrow.
Looks like I gotta do that app tonight…

hey i was a stanford EAer and they said they would come out the 15th but instead they came out on the 11th… so colleges definitely dont always stick to their words but idk about NW

I’m firmly banking on their financial aid clause getting me out of the contract if I’m accepted with minimal scholarships, but at the same time, if the decisions aren’t released by the 15th, I would be under the impression that the aggreement would become voided.

@wangatang: it’s different for something to be released earlier than a date than after. It’s essentially the same as turning in homework a few days earlier – that’s acceptable. However, if you turn it in even an hour later than you were assigned, your paper isn’t graded at all. That analogy might be wasted since my brain is mush currently.

So let me understand this…you are dying to find out if you were accepted ED while simultaneously plotting how to get out of it?

I didn’t say I would try to get out of it, I’m just wondering if it’s possible.

Oh trust me, if I were to be accepted with enough financial aid, I will not get out of it. I’ve just started wondering different things that could occur because my mind is creating extreme scenarios every time I attempt to concentrate on my homework.
