The Three, Yes, Three Hour Countdown

I don’t know how the ED agreement is enforceable anyway. All acceptances are conditional and absent a 100% assurance that the school will not withdraw the acceptance I don’t know how they could legally force someone to comply. All this is conjecture, of course. An admissions rep at another school’s info session actually said that they really had no way of enforcing the agreement. Having said that, since I do not believe that the common app ED agreement mentions a date, I don’t think that the late decision concept would hold water.

True, I’ve only heard of schools threatening to take action which scares most of the students, but really they do nothing. They also blacklist the student to all other elite schools which causes most of those students to not be admitted into the other schools. However, I haven’t applied to any more “ivy” type schools, so I should be fine. It is presented that all applicants will have their notices by 15 December, however, you’re right: it’s not on the CommonApp portion of the agreement whatsoever.

Tick, tock.

I just got home can somebody summarize?

5pm CST they start with letter A?

I’m a B :open_mouth: 10char

Glenny - Decisions are supposedly going to be released beginning at 5 pm CST. They’re going to be sent out in segments, alphabetically. They say that everyone will be notified of their decision by 8 am tomorrow. Ahh!

That’s about it, Glenny. If this information is correct, we’ll get our decisions no later than 8 AM Central.

I don’t think it will be in hour intervals because there aren’t 26 hours between 5 PM and 8 AM, no matter what time zone you’re in. I wonder how they’ll do it. If they do it.

im a D…i can’t breathe rite now…im so nervous…let alone doing homework

If, in fact, they are being released tonight I wouldn’t assume they are alphabetical.

@citylove: Thanks a bunch!

My Last name starts with letter A

Good luck guys!

lucky people! I’m an R. Guess who is pulling an all-nighter?

Objective - I’m just basing the alphabetical thing off of what the original poster said (the one whose dad called and got the information). I could definitely be wrong, but I suppose we’ll see soon enough… hopefully!

We are talking about at most 500 emails. They need to stagger that? What is this, 1995?

So, how credible is this information…I’m not believing it until they actually send out the email.

Haha, true. Maybe they just want to send them out in a more organized way… I really don’t know. Regardless, I just hope it’s tonight.

@Objctive Good point, but remember they also send out rejections/defferals so we’re talking like 1700 emails. Brown got their flippin decisions! frick frick frick!

Why 500? They also send out rejection and deferrals. Probably closer to 1500-1750 emails.

True… I think it would be more than 500. They don’t just send out acceptances.

No way no way no way!

I got in!!
