Jay Leno is gone, shucks, he was so great as the host! He’ll have his own show now called the Leno show. So I wanted to know how long do you guys think the Tonight Show with Conan as host will last? I’m not sure on specifics, but is it not a tenure question but rather one of a simple replacement, in that they just replaced Leno with Conan as host and that the Tonight Show will continue showing for several several years with Conan simply the host now? How is this?

I don’t really get why this is all such a big deal. Conan already had a late night show, and he’ll still have one. Leno already had a late night show, and he’ll still have one. The shows might have different names and appear at different times, but since I only watch them on the Internet anyways, it’s all the same to me.

I just hope Leno keeps Kevin Eubanks for his new show.

Conan rocks…CIRCLE CIRLCE LMAO

What about his tenure as host…is that not the issue or was he just a simple replacement and now he’s host for many years to come

Conan is by far my favorite late show host, maybe even one of my favorite comedians in general! Leno was great, but I think Conan will be even better (and so far, he’s lived up to that!). As far as how long he’ll last, who knows. I’d say at least another 10 years. But the man isn’t exactly young, despite what the media has been portraying him as, as you can tell just by looking at his face.

Just reread your question, haha. Yes they simply replaced Leno as host, not much more to it as far as I know.

Yeah, I like Conan better too. I don’t think it will make that much of a difference like others here are saying.

I loved Late Night so I hope that Conan’s absurdist/self-deprecating humor won’t be replaced by Leno’s bland, predictable pablum.

Personally:

Craig Ferguson > Jay Leno > Conan O’Brien >>>> David Letterman/Jimmy Kimmel/Jimmy Fallon

The first three are fairly equally great. The last three are fairly equally mediocre.

Jimmy Fallon replaced Conan on Late Night right? I watched him several times and he really does imitate Conan a lot.

I love Conan and think he still does a great job.

I think Jimmy Fallon is downright awful and won’t watch his show. Its just not funny, hes not good at it.

^Yeah, Jimmy Fallon is only funny 10% of the time, the other 90% of the time, he is just awkward

Leno was terrible, Conan is a huge improvement. I might actually watch it now. And Craig Ferguson is insanely underestimated.

I have no idea how anyone could say Leno was terrible.

His monologues always struck me as very lame, the “man on the street” interviews are just boring after one, and Jay himself doesn’t come off as very funny on his own. Like in interviews, he seems pretty soft and conservative. I like Conan’s self-deprecating, absurdist humor more.

Yea, in all of Leno’s monologues it’s like he’s not even trying to hide the fact he’s reading off cue cards or a teleprompter, he just stares right at them not even trying to look at the camera. And most of his jokes are just extremely predictable and mediocre.

What I wanna know is how long Conan will be on the show. any clue?
