The tragedy of my Berkeley Acceptance

I really wanted to go to Chicago. However, my parents are forcing me to go to Berkeley because they like it better. I wish I had been rejected by Berkeley so they would support me to go to my first choice. I am now disillusioned for an unexpected acceptance.

Gods, what a way to put it. Disillusioned for an unexpected acceptance. Look, I don’t know who you are but I’m sure as I type there are kids who are in agony because they didn’t get into Berkeley.

With that said…
Dude. Sorry about that.
I know it’s easier said than done but fight. It’s your four years not your parents’ four years.
What does forcing consist of anyway? Is this fightable? Because it really is worth fighting for. (Not that you need me to say that.)

sympathy

just withdraw your apps from the uc and youll be forced into going to UChicago

Go were you want to go. Sit down with your parents and talk nicely! They’ll nderstand! And if they don’t, you can always go and talk to your grandparents so they’ll convince them otherwise!!

There is no guarantee that they’ll understand- but the least that you can do is tell them that U want Chicago or you’ll go the uc and fail miserably. Don’t budge- bluff- and maybe they’ll let you go to u of chicago.

PS- withdrawing your papers from uc and you’ll have to go to Uchicago anyway.

If you are in-state for Berkeley and there is a financial issue this is not going to be an easy discussion. Creating a spreadsheet showing the advantages/disadvantages of each may help.

hahaha i know what you mean…
