Since most of us have completed all of our transfer applications or are in the process of completing them, what mistakes have you made that you regret? Also, this should be helpful for future transfer applicants.

As for me, I applied to WAY TOO MANY schools. I was only planning to apply to 4, but that number increased to 10 -_- I wouldn’t even consider going to half of the schools I applied to, and so much money was wasted. If I think about it now, I think 5 is the perfect number. 2 far-reach schools, 1 slight-reach, 1 match school, and 1 safety.

hahaa I almost did that. I was like Dad am I applying for fin aid? He’s like “um yea,” so I had to change it. The mistake I probably did was not submit any of my FAFSA/CSS or submit at an extremely late date.

It’s not really a mistake…more of a birth defect…but i’m left handed so when I filled out the Brown application (it has glossy paper) I smeared the ink straight across with my hand. -_-

Haha, I did that last year for Northwestern. I wrote one for Duke then revised it and realized after I turned it in that I had “Northwestern University” in the Duke essay. Oops.

i hear ya beechbum. smearing and getting **** all over the side of your hand is the only bad thing about being left handed. us left-handers control the world muahahah.

Masochistically sellecting the schools that have the highest probability of rejecting me and then applying to all of them and nowhere else.

Bombing the Harvard application absolutely and relatively to the ones that I did after that.

In the process of applying I let myself obsess with transferring and ended up detesting my school. Now the classes are unbearable.
