ok, maybe the penultimate question…

Do you think someone who was 35/530 in his class would stand a chance on piano alone? I mean this kid (absurdly hypothetical) was invited to play in china and he’s really good, but A-/B+ average…
sat 1550, good essays, I can give more stats if you want…

For starters, if its u, say its u. If its a friend, say its a friend. No need for that anonymous stuff on this board.

Music and other “artsie” stuff is very fickle. You (assuming it IS you) should contact the music department at Pton and talk to them, as well as submit samples of your playing as supplimentary material on your application. Other than that, you’ve got as much of a chance as anybody else. Once you get to this level, no one can accurately predict acceptances (except maybe EcomiumII lol). Good luck!

a 1550 sat is definitely not average!

yeah, its me… i assumed that was obvious, thanks guys

no, you definitely dont stand a shot…i dont know why u even wasted your time and money applying, not to mention wasting OUR time by telling us you applied…ur obviously not qualified to even THINK about applying to princeton…jeez, u missed a WHOLE 50 points on the SATs??? who does that??? that ALONE will throw ur application into the automatic reject pile…psshh…

lets use some brain cells people…ur obviously smart enough to do better than 99% of the people who take the freaking SATs…ur smart enough to have done ur research to see what the median SAT scores are for incoming freshman…heck, u were even smart enough to find the best college discussion forum on the internet…and yet ur having doubts as to whether or not u stand a “shot” with ur 1550…does someone wanna take it from here? or should i keep going…

everybody has a “SHOT”…i dont care if u scored a 980…u have a shot…don’t fish for compliments

why not curtis or julliard as a music performance major? u seem to have no trouble with that area.

Where did he say that 1550 was average?

I assure you, there was no fishing motive.
This is the thing. If somehow I got in, i would be the first kid in my 20-year-old school’s history to have done so with my kind of GPA. I’m looking (much like every “what are my chances” poster) more for solace than praise.
Anyway, sorry.

dont be sorry…if anyone should be sorry, its me…I went off and i shouldn’t have. It just blew me away that you were wondering if you had a shot at getting in. If kids with pretty much an A average and a 1550 DON’T have a shot, then who does?

surburbian: by the tone of darmani’s first post, it sounded like he didn’t think he’d have a shot with a 1550 sat score, therefore that would lead me to conclude that he didn’t think 1550 was good enough, which he is. that was my statement.

you are ranked near the top 5% of your class…you have a 1500+ for your highest SAT score, which is great…you got invited to asia to play piano…hmmm
