the university of akron academic dismissal

this is my situation. I go to the University of akron and this is my junior year. Last year some personal issues happened for me to lose focus. Me and my boyfriend of 4 years broke up and I took it pretty hard because we were engaged for 3 months. I had a 2.4 but failed a class which landed me on academic probation. I have all C’s and one D. I could have had a B in one of my classes but my partner didn’t do his part in a group project so it landed me with a C. I have a D in my sign language class because I came in weeks late and did bad on the first test and not so well on the second. I tried to get help for tutoring in sign language but the times that they have for tutoring conflicts with when I have to work and my professor won’t meet outside if her office hours to help me. Also there is no extra credit. So I will have a C in 3 classes and a D in one. What is the chances of me getting academically dismissed? I need lots of advice. I don’t want to take a break. I know I can do better. I’ve just been under alot of stress and anxiety to the point that I’m having attacks

Email your advisor now. Set up a meeting with him or her and explain your situation. An anonymous college forum is not equipped to answer such a specific question.

@mmm192…I agree with whenhen about meeting with your counselor. If you can get your Cs and D up to a plus and keep a 2.0 or higher that would help. You really need to look at getting tutoring help and it would be worth paying for it to get someone to meet your schedule.
I read the Akron grading policy and you can repeat any course for which you received a C- or lower. Both grades will appear but the higher grade will be used for your GPA. Replacing an F or a D with a B or C would be a nice GPA boost. You may want to look at taking a summer course to replace a failing or low grade especially if you want to stay above probation levels.
Good luck.

ALso if you can’t meet with your professor, then use other sources like videos or tutors or see if there is an ASL club
