The University Of Virginia

Does UVA give 100% need to OOS students?

Yes. In fact, if you're a low income student, you may be able to attend on a full ride even if you're out of state. Check out Access UVA.

Gracias.........

What do you guys think of Systems engineering in UVA?

Of the UVA engineering programs, I hear it's one of the best in the Engineering School. One UVA Systems program that I like is the US-Brazil Exchange Program. At the bottom of this [url=<a href="http://www.seas.virginia.edu/uvef/publications/spring06/seas.html%5Dlink%5B/url">http://www.seas.virginia.edu/uvef/publications/spring06/seas.html]link[/url</a>] is a story of 2 engineering students who partook in the program.

Sheed30,

Actually, the bottom article of this link is even better.

okey doke..anymore knowledge on the subject?

My dream job is to be on the managenment team for Paramount or Dreamworks or any other production company. I also would love to work for CNN, ABC, FOX ect. on the management team.

I think I am going to major in business, so would a minor in tehatre look good for these jobs? Or should I minor in radio ,television, and film?

How is the Foreign Affairs programme at UVA?

uhhhhh...I got into UVA (OOS and with non-monetary Echols scholarship) and the financial aid they gave was about 40% of that given by every private besides 1 that I got in. Financial aid has a sense of randomness to it though.

anyone else know anything about it...

i have a few friends who are systems at uva. its basically the business program in the e-school.

do you know how good the placement is where they go on to work? Average salary....how does it look?

My son was offered a great FA pkg from UVA - equal/better than Duke, Brown and Yale. Another perk that appealed to my son was along with the Echols, he was offered some pgm (forget the name) where UVA waives distribution/gen ed requirements - essentially making it an open curriculum type of deal. My son interviewed a couple times for the Jefferson Scholarship but didn't get it... In the end, he chose Brown because he got into Brown's guaranteed medical school program (PLME) along with a nice scholarship to pay for it - but UVA was a great opportunity for him.

On the topic of UVa, I've had trouble locating their statistics for OOS applicants. I've found the numbers for all applicants, but none for solely non-virginia residents. Does anyone happen to have them?

they don't exist other than percent admitted. that number is around 30%

Any body know anymore about Fin. Aid here? How much in loans would they give a low-income student?

<a href="http://www.virginia.edu/accessuva/learn.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.virginia.edu/accessuva/learn.html</a></p>

waiving curriculum requirements? That's a sweet deal
