The View and its new hosts

Anyone watch? Im not sure this line up is going to gel. I think Rosie O. will butt heads with Nicole and Whoopie. I will give it a shot but honestly Rosie P voice is grating. Nicole has a whiny cadence as well. Needless to say it will be interesting. I may have to give The Talk a shot, as Ive never watched it.

IMO, anyone’s better than Jenny McCarthy so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

I’ve never watched the actual show, but see it mocked a lot on various websites I frequent . As individuals, I don’t care for any of the hosts, past or present ( although I think Meredith Vierra was there at one point, and I do like her ) Rosie Perez’s voice grates on my last nerve…I am never at home during the times of shows like that, and if I was, would likely watch news or food network

I really don’t like this show, so no matter who was on it I wouldn’t watch. However, why on earth isn’t there someone younger to attract a younger audience? They’re all in their 50’s I believe. I don’t know who Nicole is, but I sure couldn’t stand to sit through Rosie ODonnell and her rants for a single second. To think I once really enjoyed her when she had her own show.

I don’t watch the show regularly but no way could I handle more than a minute of Rosie Perez.

@eyemamom, once upon a time, Rosie O’Donnell was kind of funny and upbeat…now she’s just another ranting , unpleasant , bitter person who has a platform to express her anger…not entertaining IMO

I slowed down my watching when Rosie O’Donnell was on. I went back when she left. I quit completely when Jenny McCarthy started and I guarantee this new line up will not get me to come back. And I was a viewer who started with the first episode and watched for years. I even recorded it when I couldn’t be home. But it’s been a while since I watched more than a few minutes of it. i absolutely could not stand Jenny McCarthy or Rosie.

I may give it a try again. Each woman on the show is opinionated and intelligent and I hope that they will be able to stand up for their opinions without sounding shrill or vapid. I didn’t feel Elizabeth, Sherrie or Jenny had the intellectual chops to bring any insight into current affairs.

I always assumed a sizeable portion of the audience was retirees anyway. I don’t know any younger people who have the leisure time to watch daytime television. And the show hardly seems worth DVR-ing for the evening, when there are so many better entertainment choices available on TV. Maybe the younger panelists from the past (Matenopoulos, Hasselbeck) didn’t pull in a younger crowd of viewers, so they gave up on the effort.

I watched the show from the beginning, but in the past couple of years it became too difficult to watch. While Elizabeth and I probably disagree on 98% of the issues, I felt like Barbara became so condescending toward her that it was awful. Then when Elizabeth left, she started being condescending to Sherri. I hated the addition of Jenny. And all the while, I was angry that they never hired a Latina, what with Hispanics being the fastest-growing demographic. I like Whoopi a lot and will give the new incarnation a try. Rosie P’s voice is a little grating, but she has a really interesting life story and has overcome a lot so I’ve become a fan. I thought they would hire Sunny Hostin, who I really liked when she was filling in.

I thought they would hire Sunny as well, I like her.

I haven’t watched it in eons, but I liked the lineup that included Meredith Viera, Joy Behar, and Lisa Ling. I even liked Star Jones. :)

I did, too! All smart and funny but not with axes to grind.

Let fireworks begin…Rosie should know Whoopie is not going to put up with her crap. <a href=“'The View' Cast Feud: Hosts Rosie O'Donnell & Whoopi Goldberg Fight Live on Air : Entertainment : Latin One”>'The View' Cast Feud: Hosts Rosie O'Donnell & Whoopi Goldberg Fight Live on Air : Entertainment : Latin One;
