OK, I had to ask. The villas are apparently THE place to be at night, but all I hear is stories about people getting busted, running from cops, and getting beat up. Tonight a girl coming back to NW got physically assaulted by two guys on 17th street at the villas. And other nights people come back to my dorm (Foster) with these crazy stories about how 200 people were fleeing from the cops and this girl got arrested and this guy tried to rape that girl.

I’m constantly getting encouraged to go up there, but I don’t want to get trashed (I do drink, but not that much; I haven’t had any alcohol since I got to IU) and it seems like half the people say it’s a legitimate place and the other half say it’s sketchy and scary.

Has anyone been up there, and if so what is it REALLY like?

My neighbors (I’m in Mcnutt) party quite a bit, and they were up there the past 2 nights. The first night got busted. They invited me up there last night and I decided to pass since I don’t drink (at least not yet…) and they said it was an 8 kegger repeatedly, so they throw down pretty hard. As of now, I’m curious as well, but maybe I’ll go in the next couple weeks and I’ll repost here.

I’ve been to the villas 2 of my past 4 nights (the other 2 going to frats). They are fun. You’re missing out if you’re not going to them. Quit being such a ■■■■■.

^ All I’m doing is asking why they’re famed to be so amazing. I went to a place called Smallwood on Friday and a place called Hoosier Courts on Saturday and they were asking for ~$10 a cup and Hoosier Courts got busted 10 mins after we got there.

Just wondering if Walking 2 miles to the villas is worth it just to have it get busted like it does every other night. Because I look out my window at night and I see like thousands of chicks walking up Fee Lane in their Stilettos and dresses on their way to the Villas like it’s some kind of huge deal, which according to people i’ve talked to it isn’t because it’s just ghetto and sketchy.

I’m in Foster too so naturally I see and hear a lot of talk regarding the Villas and other places to party. Some girls on my floor went to the villas last week. They all claim that it’s nothing special yet they keep going back. I think there was one instance where a bunch of parties got broken up there last week, and that was when chaos ensued.

I actually don’t get the party scene here at all. I’ve been to the frats a couple of times since I’ve gotten here and all it is are drunk people standing around pretending like they’re doing something really important.

^Arent you a freshman? We get shot if we go to the frats before September 12th. Or so they say. If you’re planning to rush (which I am) and you get busted up there it could mean a citation or worse, not being able to rush. My roommate is Basically the king of the freshman class and he’s not even risking it. But Just wondering; what frat did you go to and what did you think?

^The king of the freshman class? Yet he hasn’t been to ONE frat since he got here? Dude, you gota wake up. You’re roommate is either lying to you (so you don’t ask to come along) or he is just as lame as you. I’m stuck in Fing WRIGHT, I’m a freshman, and I’ve been to DU and ASP. I plan on rushing Sigma Chi. It really isn’t that big a deal. Both frats had their windows sealed off/doors closed so even if the cops do show up, they can’t do * because the alcohol isn’t “in plain sight.” Seriously, Man up.

The villas are lame

Yes, freshmen have been to frats…I’m a sophomore in a sorority and a few of my friends in fraternities have had potential rushees over already. So yeah the “king of the freshmen class” is missing out.

Anyhow, there are frats who throw open parties, in face a lot of greek houses saturday were throwing it down since there were mostly no pairs.

Make sure you don’t act stupid if you are rushing nor get drunk. Cause we easily see that and kick him out of rush.

If you are going to the villas and you are a girl, I feel bad for you. Go to the greek houses and I assure you it will be better then the “villas”. Fellas, sorry you are lucking out. Try SAMMYs or something.

^I’m jealous of the people around you. From your above posts I’d say you fit in perfectly with most of the people here at Wright. You obviously don’t like to go out. Also, I can guarantee you won’t get a bid from Sigma Chi, Delts, Kappa Sigma, Acacia, or ATO. Don’t waste your time. So yeah, basically we should just switch housing and we’d both be better off.

^What’s wrong with DU? Their parties have been good so far.

Even though I’ve only been here a few short weeks, I’ve become acquainted with people from pretty much every dorm, and YES, there are tons of people in Wright even Forest and Read who like to go out. I went to a party with a bunch of Read people last Saturday. The “Only Northwest people go out” stereotype’s really not all that true.

^ Yeah but if you’re walking from the Northwest Dorms to the villas you have to walk allll the way down 17th street past the stadium and then take the first right. And they got assaulted on the way back.
