Is anyone else still watching this show? And, if so, what do you think after the first two episodes?
Me. I just wish they’d take care of Negan and move on to other plot lines. I’m getting really tired of this one and the constant fighting is exhausting. The earlier seasons had a lot of calm in between the storms that allowed for more character interaction.
I was watching the after-show the “Talking Dead?”, and the producer said at least the next two episodes are going to very similar.
I’m also hoping that Glenn will somehow regenerate himself and climb out of his grave. I miss him. They really screwed things up last season - I’m hoping for better things this season.
It’s still my #1 show and the only one I watch regularly. I thought last season would be epic but they dragged it out to do the war at the beginning of this season. My guess is someone big dies next week or the week after. Maybe Carol? Morgan? Every battle has its price.
It better not be Carol or I’m going to stop watching. I’m thinking it will be Carl.
I thought the first episode was good but this week’s was pretty useless in furthering the story arc. I’m a little tired of the continual pondering of ‘are we really the good guys’ and ‘have we lost our humanity’. The episode was confusing as there doesn’t seem to be an actual plan for what they’re doing, or, if there is, they certainly haven’t detailed it to the extent that it is clear to the viewer. It’s time for the plot to move forward, for Negan to be gone, and for Rick and his ‘tribes’ to look to the next step.
I love the show and can’t give it up. I feel like a big death is coming, but I am guess king Ezekiel as he is so overly confident currently or Morgan because he said “I don’t Die” last week.
Not Carol!
I can’t stop watching either.
I agree about taking care of Negan and being done with him. He’s always been so annoying to me. I thought it was ridiculous how in the first episode, Rick and company had a clear shot at him standing outside and they didn’t just shoot him right away. And what was up with them using up a ton of ammunition just shooting out windows? That didn’t make any sense at all.
Despite this and many other such hard-to-believe scenarios over the past few seasons, I’m still a diehard fan of the show and plan to watch it until the bitter end. I hope Rick, Carol, Maggie and Daryl all survive, but I’m not holding my breath.
Ha!I had the same reaction to the missed opportunity to finish off Negan in the first episode.
I also wonder how the tiger knows how to differenciate between saviors and “good guys” and not just eat people willy nilly.
I’m getting tired of the fighting and this storyline. They need to wrap it up. I thought it was ridiculous that Negan could have been shot no problem, but Rick didn’t? Honestly? I’m bummed they said the next 2 episodes will be the same stuff.
Spoilers
Oh no, oh no, oh no…not Carl! I am so done with this season, but that ending! Wasn’t expecting that.

@conmama did you sort of see it coming two episodes ago when he and the new character were struggling with the walkers in the woods? I suspected it then, but when it wasn’t addressed in another scene or the next episode, it sort of went out of my mind. I am surprised they went for that plot twist, but I am sure the actor has big real life things coming up in the future.
No, it didn’t cross my mind. I’ve gone and read reviews and the show has deviated from the comics with this storyline. They also did an interview with the actor who plays Carl, and he said it completely surprised him and his parents. I got the feeling this was not wanted. He was getting ready to start college this past fall, he just bought a house in GA. He’s decided to take a gap year and head to LA, probably for some acting courses, whatever actors do out there.
I was disappointed, too. So the Old Man Carl theory is dead?
I am over this battle, as well as confused about what is going on. I got lost an episode or two back. I understand that some characters on acting on their own, but I am having a hard time following what they are doing and why.
yes, I just read the article about poor Chandler Riggs being taken by surprise and buying the house and all. he did just put out some sort of music and I read somewhere he had cut his hair for a new role. I feel like a lot of running around will continue since a few of their settlements are now out of play. Oh well.
I also was bothered that once again Rick missed what seemed like an easy opportunity to just bash Neegan’s head in and be done with it.
I was also bothered by the fact that almost the entire 90 minute episode was shot in the dark and I could hardly make our what was happening…
And yes, way too many chances to get rid of Negan. I’m tired of that.
