<p>^ sunday1x is right!! You’ll know immediately by the envelope once you get it! You also won’t receive the envelope until a couple of days later, possibility longer. I didn’t get UCLA’s letter for more than a week. ANOTHER thing, if you get rejected you won’t receive a letter at all from some schools. Don’t the ivies come out on April 1st not the 31st? The though of getting a huge envelope is enticing but I wouldn’t want to wait an extra week for it to come.</p>

<p>Hmm…well I freely admit that I might be wrong, but according to the general consensus of what I’ve read/heard, Ivies send out emails at about 5pm EST on March 31 (except for UPenn, my favorite, which has to be difficult and sends them at the same time but on April 1st instead) and then they express mail acceptance letters so that they will arrive at your house on April 1st. If you’re accepted you won’t have to worry about potentially not finding out for a week, or so I’ve been led to believe. CCers, please feel free to correct me if you have other information. :-)</p>
<p>And no I’m not THAT crazy, what I meant was that I’m waiting to open the envelopes on the 1st rather than the emails on the 31st. If I don’t get any mail on the 1st I know I’ll have to dive straight into my inbox. That’s why I said I’m ‘waiting an extra day’ to find out. I don’t know if I could stand a whole week, haha. But I am hoping any letters will arrive on time, because I like the physical aspect of letter-opening better than the simple click-and-see of emails. For example, I have already been accepted to my safety school by letter and NYU by email, and the experience of opening the envelope (though extremely obvious) felt ten times more epic then clicking on the email, even though it shouldn’t have due to my chances at the respective schools.</p>
<p>And squidoop, I’m terrified of that happening! >.< My other rejection nightmare is that they’ll all be howlers, lol.</p>
<p>Oh, just found out Princeton doesn’t send emails till 5pm EST on the 1st either. Anyone know if any of the others do things differently?</p>
<p>I agree with what others have said… opening that envelope is so much more climactic than just seeing an acceptance/rejection email, which feels so much more impersonal and valueless.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure it’s 5PM on the 1st of April this year, I’ve gotten emails from 3 of my schools.</p>
<p>Um…this question was on the last page, but what will I be doing up until 4:00 (for me)?</p>
<p>I’ll get home at 3:30. Then I’ll probably have something to eat. Usually after that I would take a nap, but I’d probably be too nervous to on this day. So, I’ll put on some intense music and get on my Gmail.</p>
<p>^I have a rehearsal at my high school that happens to START at 5 PM on April 1st, lucky me. Guess who’s going to be late to rehearsal lol?</p>

Although now that I think of it…if I get accepted anywhere, I’d probably be so freaking, overwhelmingly excited I would have to skip out of rehearsal to run around and go crazy hahaha 
And if it was miraculously an acceptance to Yale, I’d drive out to New Haven to buy a bunch of Yale paraphernalia and frolic on campus lolol</p>

UMUMUM I’m going to check Yale first, because I think I’m least likely to be admitted there. Then Princeton, then Harvard!!!
Or perhaps I will check them in whatever order they come. FAARR OUT. We have like 4 days.</p>

<p>Haha in a slight dilemma… I was planning on going to USC for the weekend to check out the “nightlife”, but my ride is leaving on Thursday…</p>
<p>Ugh… I’m debating if I stay home for the acceptances or just go? I can always drive up myself, but I’m pretty sure I might kill myself in LA traffic haha.</p>
