The William Orr Dingwall Foundation

I searched the threads and could not find one for this except one that was not titled by someone asking a question.

This scholarship is known as the Korean Ancestry Grant but you do not have to be of Korean Ancestry is why I didn’t call the post that because some may not check it out
“Do I have to be Korean to apply for the Korean Ancestry Grant?
No. You must be of Asian ancestry. There is a strong preference for applicants of Korean ancestry.”

AWARD: For the 2010-2011 funding cycle, the Foundation awarded $451,496 to 56 scholars.

Did anyone else here apply?
I know very slim chance (my DD applied to everything starting last summer that I found - over 40 and counting… yes, she is determined to go to her dream school!)

Take Care,
Lisa

have you heard whether or not you were chosen as a recipient?

I applied and received semifinalist notification today. They will announce finalists later this month.

how were you notified? email, phone, letter?

My DD got rejection email yesterday :(

sorry to hear that.
i havent heard anything either way yet. is there someone i should contact or just wait it out. i would think i would hear something even if i didint get it.

Has anyone who is a semifinalist been contacted as to whether or not they won the scholarship?

I believe all winners (as well as rejected) were contacted on May 25, 2011
