Why are you the worst transfer ever? Was this just a lie to get me to read this? Well, it worked.
I’m assuming you have taken a fair share of Eco classes. If not then apply for more business related schools
In the order listed above:
Brown-a reach for anyone. Look up their rue program
Cornell-Impossible/high reach. Their b program is ~10% very tough
Amherst-impossible/high reach.
Rutgers-match
Rider-safety
NJCU-safety
You have a good story, use it to your advantage and you can have a chance at getting in any of those schools
@Oxymoron1 Lol, that was indeed my original intention. Ironically, I did apply for RUE and I am definitely familiar with the difficulty of Cornell’s AEM program after my Brown application – I was feeling strong, encouraged and optimistic. I figured I’d shoot for the stars. Only courses offered at my CC are the basic Economics courses (Micro / Macro) which I will definitely get an “A” in. I applied to most of my schools based on FA – either looking for full need or highest scholarship/need-based potential with the exception of Rutgers.
So far I’ve been accepted to Rider with the max transfer scholarship and NJCU with a full-ride, however NOT accredited by the AACSB which is not good for an accounting program.
Accounting is an incredibly strong field. Where you attended college doesn’t matter so much in that field because of a shortage in cpas. The big four hires from everywhere.
Indeed, but I would like to get my Ph.D eventually in Economics or Accounting, lol. Oxy, do you think I’ll get into any of the Big 3? Brown – RUE , Cornell AEM or Amherst?
I think possibly Amherst because they like good stories. I called aem because I was interested but the vibe I get is that it’s become so unreasonable to get in as transfer.
You should look into university of Richmond, not as elite as those schools but a very good(top 20) business school.
Looks like you are in-state for New Jersey? Rutgers - New Brunswick has a very good, highly rated b-school. It’s a match or low reach (it’s very competitive to get in directly-not sure about transfers). You need better safety/match schools. As a safety, you could include Montclair State - their business school is accredited, and has a better reputation than NJCU. Rutgers- Newark and Rutgers-Camden can also be included as safeties.
Thanks, guys you have all been very helpful. My safety was Rider University only because of the amount of scholarship money they offered and their likelihood to award need-based AID, BUT I did also apply to Arizona State University [another great B-school for Accounting] after having a great discussion with Financial Aid…so I guess we’ll see what happens!
