The X-Factor is much better than American Idol

I think one reason is the singers get to sing in the genre that shows them off best…

The man who sang At Last…he reminds me of a young Joe Cocker…
I thought he was fantastic…

That was a very nice duet to open the show too…

That sixteen year old singer showed a lot of poise…

The fourteen year old girl was excellent.

Now if the singers all have to sing Beatles songs…forget it…

I also like the judges…including the new gentleman.

I can do without the poor acts…I do switch channels…and then switch back when the poor acts are done…

dstark, There’s another thread entitiled “Americas Got Talent, American Idol, XFactor, etc.” I also really liked Drew, the 14 year old girl, and the guy from Columbus OH whose name escapes me at the moment!

Couldn’t find that thread…

If you click on the “Search” tab at the top of the page, type in “XFactor” and then click “show posts” you will find it listed.

Found it…page 6 …

You mean there’s a difference between the two? I thought they just changed the title. Same format, same judges, (almost) same production set, same group of singers, just like all the other endless dancing/singing contest shows my W likes to watch that I can’t stand.

The ratings are much lower than expected for X-Factor (so people probably agree with you ucsd…); although, relatively speaking they are solid.

I find the singers to be more interesting on X-Factor than on American Idol.

^^ That’s good if the singers are better. My W (and I) can’t stand the first few of these types of shows where they put the untalented bafoons on the show for everybody to laugh at. It’s just a waste of time and ear usage and I can’t imagine anyone really enjoys that part of the show. My W says the X factor is still in this mode so she’s skipping it until they put the decent singers on consistently (I know some have already been decent). Maybe this is accounting for some of the lower ratings up front.

They need to cut to the chase on these shows and only put the talented singers on and go from there.

I agree with you on post #8…I do not want to watch the untalented…

I’m in the wait and see mode re this show. the first night I was impressed, the second night I was bored, and last night I was impressed again.

I think, for me, it’s just a LOT of TV to watch in one week. Two hours for two nights just seems like overkill. I can handle a one hour slot, and that’s about it.

Personally, I prefer X Factor UK and The Voice to both of these shows… :P
