<p>So do you write a question of your own and answer it, or could you write about any topic without explicitly stating the question/topic before the essay?</p>

<p>And are the questions that you didn’t answer for the Common Application essay excluded, or can you write about something related to those also?</p>

<p>It’s pretty wide open – a time to share something about yourself. I wrote about how I betrayed my best friend’s secrets – heady stuff but profound for a 17 yr old. </p>

<p>It worked for me… re-reading it recently, “my voice” comes through. Good luck to you</p>
