what do you do freshman year when you can’t take acting classes? don’t you feel as if you are wasting a year of your life?

Not at all! For although you aren’t actually taking “acting” classes, you are taking theatre classes, such as Voice for Performance, Analysis of Performance, and Theatre Context. I am currently in Voice for Performance (taught by Linda Gates!, the famous vocal coach) and Theatre Context, both of which are facinating, often have physical aspects, and very helpful. They are hardly your average “class” classes. Rather than a year without theatre, it’s more like a year to build the foundation: a strong voice, a strong mind, a strong idea of the importance of theatre. That way, when it comes time to really jump into acting classes, you already have that firm foundation to keep you steady.

Also, there is insane amounts of student theatre on campus, and lots of talented people more than willing to improv/do scene work/put on a show with you.

Exactly…
