Theatre or Dance at Deerfield!?

I am entering as a repeat sophomore and I am torn between doing dance or theatre for the fall. I did a few plays in middle school and liked it a lot. I have never done a legit form of dance (unless you count zumba which I don’t think you do) but I do like to dance and I have always wanted to learn how to (especially ballroom). I want to be active but I don’t know if I’ll be any good at it or if I should jus stick to theatre which I also like. Any advice would be great!

Lots of beginner dancers at DA. The Intro class usually has a large number of varsity athletes doing their arts credits. The dance co-curricular is also leveled - so no problem being a beginner. Theatre as an EC is by audition at the beginning of the term. If you do not get a role you can work tech or switch to another EC. Theatre as a class is also popular. There is a new drama teacher next year - so it is a bit of an unknown right now.

We also have a ballroom dancing club that meets after sports once a week-ish, so definitely think about that too.

D wanted dance but picked another school. i loved D program and teacher at deerfield
