Hi everyone,
I applied for the National Scholarship for 2017-18. I wanted to start a thread so that we can stay connected. If you’ve applied, recipient or not, please share thoughts and tips.

Application open in mid November 2016 and were due March 8, 2017 and notifications are supposed to be given the end of this month (April 2017)
The National Scholarship Award will cover your tuition and fees up to a maximum of $12,500 for an associate’s degree and $25,000 for a bachelor’s degree, at one of our Partner Colleges
The Award is renewable each year – you simply have to meet the continuing eligibility criteria – including continuous full-time enrollment (more than 12 credits per term) and a college GPA of 3.0. If you struggle, your Scholar Advisor will be there to help you get back on track.
Eligiblity is limited to so-called “Dream-ers” or kids who were brought here illegally and have since been given special permission to stay.
@CoolCake HI! I am an upcoming freshman from Texas, and I found out I was a recipient of theDream.US scholarship this past Saturday!! Congratulations to everyone who has been given this opportunity.
To be completely honest, for me this acceptance was the deciding factor whether I could continue higher education or not. I’m so grateful and can’t wait to meet other scholars and dreamers!
@uzairb Hi. First off, congrats! Yeah I received the “Congratulations” email as well. Words can’t describe how grateful and excited I am to continue my education, this scholarship truly means a lot.

I think it would depend if you’re eligible for in-state tuition. Are you a recipient of the National Scholarship ?
