These will transfer...right?

So here is my course list and I’m wondering if I can expect the majority of these to transfer to 4 year universities?

Intended Major: Architecture, Business, or Management Engineering and Science

I’ve been looking at: USC, UCLA, UW, Stanford, UCLA, Syracuse, U of Miami, WSU, Duke

I really do not want to waste an extra 2+ quarters on an AA which in reality is a useless degree. Certain admissions officers have told me the following would work but I’m skeptical. My econ instructor has even told me the counselors at my community college have incentive to keep me there for an AA, regardless of whether it truly benefits me or not.

Please see these and let me know what you think.

Courses I have taken:

Sociology Introduction 101
Art Appreciation 100
Econ (Prereq) 100
Anthropology (Prereq) 100
Cultural Anthropology 200
English Composition 1
English Composition 2 (highest available)

Plan to take:

Macroeconomics 200
Maths
Precalculus
Business Law 200
Microeconomics 200
Foreign Language or Science course

Thanks!

I have encountered the same issue at my cc! The advisers told me I would have a MUCH better chance of getting into the school of my choice if I stayed and got my associates. I refused to listen to them, and I ended up getting into my school anyway. So, I think you’re right they may have an incentive to keep students there.

From what I have seen in my course evaluations, I surmise that your 100 levels should transfer in for gen-ed credits. I am not sure about “maths” and “precalc” though because some schools, such as Villanova, don’t offer precalc and therefore it wouldn’t transfer.

To determine whether your course will transfer, see if the college in question has an analogous course; if so, you should have no problem.

those look pretty basic and should transfer over, though precalc may not because sometimes it’s viewed as high school work (like at cornell it is, but it varies by school). you can try e-mailing your courselist to each school and see if you get a response, but they seem like pretty basic geneds to me.
