Hey this isn’t a college question, I was inducted my freshmen year into the International Thespian Society and this year (junior) I got my honor bar and a star. My goal by my end of my senior year is to be a National Honor Thespian. What are quick ways to earn points fasts?
It just depends on how lenient your school is with point distribution. I was an International Honor Thespian by my junior year.
But, honestly, none of the titles really carry much weight.
However, seeing a show is supposed to be worth one point. If you really want to rack up points fast, see tons of shows.
I’d need to double check with my D, who was big in ITS in HS, but I think the biggest thing is to participate in shows (either at your school or elsewhere). She was an officer a couple years and might have received points for that, don’t remember for sure. But cast or crew, the more you are involved in a show the more points you can earn.
All depends upon your school, honestly. I’ve received up to 12 points for a show (this was through a set of odd circumstances, but still), but my school gives less than a point for seeing a show. I’d check with whatever student at your school is in charge of that (if your troupe has a president, or if your drama club has a Thespian officer.)
There’s a document that indicates how many points you get for what, be it being a lead in a show, supporting part, usher, crew, seeing a show, etc. I bet if you go on your state’s Thespian site you can find it.
Oh I know what it is I’ve been doing it for 3 years. I just really want to become a International Honor Thespian and have like 70 something points so I need to get like 50 this year.
@mybroadwaybaby has been to the International Thespian Festival … hopefully she can weigh in. I’ll zip her an email and see if she can share her knowledge.
Oops . . . was on my phone, and the post above was meant for a different thread!
