We’ll see. I hope the decisions were incorrect, otherwise my vacation to Mexico will not be too pleasant.

I think we should all just relax and wait 8 hours, go do something fun, or go to school, or whatever you want to occupy the time and we shall see for sure at 3!

school = fun? I’d say so.

Hi all

I am a dad whose son is finding out today, also
he applies to seas and has a big music interest
now i am nervous - if he gets in will he be able to pursue music as an engineering major - is there time

^^totally not an involved member of this group, but it would be typical for a new program to do this…there were a couple of weird instances last year where new programs produced early notifications of stuff; not necessarily acceptances, but nevertheless, stuff that should not have gotten out…

Interestingly enough though, sn3, I personally have never heard of UPenn waitlisting in ED…maybe Papachicken can chime in…I guess it could be interpretted as one step up from a deferral to RD?)

Good luck to all…

So Im 99% sure that was legit because I finally got to spoke to an admissions officer today and she said decisions have been finalized and they didnt do anything to for decisions today which makes theyre story very inconsistent

rodney-- on post 150 sn3 mentioned that he was “deferred (waitlisted)”…I suspect the letter, if real which I suspect so, just said deferred.

Good luck everyone. Easy for me to say, but chin up & keep on writing those other essays. As I discovered with my oldest, ED deferral was a blessing for him as he absolutely loves his school now & can’t imagine why he’d now choose his ED school over where he ended up. You’ve heard it many times, but it really does all work out…just gotta get excited about some other possibilities.

Not part of Penn community. This happened 2 years with Tufts for my daughter. A hidden site with decisions was posted on CC very early on the decision day. I was able to log on using my daughter PW and ID to find out she was admitted. A few hours later when Tufts found out their mistake they took the site down. This could have happened to Penn’s decision site.

My mistake, I meant deferral rather than waitlist. We’ll find out for sure in thirty-five minutes.

did anyone who checked early get a different result than they did with the potentially fake site?

Nope, it seems as if someone on the tech side made a slip and covered it up (probably thanks to CC calling into admissions).

It was completely and profoundly legitimate.
