They are up right now

swear???

seriously i think its really real though

Personally, I think they were real. Don’t give up hope, but don’t get your hopes up.

(I’m back to being nervous again…)

I just called - they’re completely aware and they don’t have any idea what happened except for some type of computer error. They said your final decision will come tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Ah, this is crazy!

dont be
thats ridiculous
of course is real
(unless they change all the decisions to prove they were right which would be weird)

I’m pretty confident that they are real.

Well, if they said they’re aware of the problem, then it was probably legit. Sorry for doubting you _____, but I’m more sorry that I didn’t take advantage of it…

Did anybody other than ____ get accepted? I checked and it said I got deferred… Right now I think there’s two possibilities: 1. It’s legit, and it was an accident that it was put up. 2. It’s fake, some tech guy messed things up and the decisions may not be correct.

So far, somebody has said they were rejected, and I was deferred… so it seems to be leaning towards legitness. One thing though, I also applied to the Huntsman program and I don’t think the site made any mention of that? Any other thoughts???

wow

10 pages of posts in less than 2 hours…

possibly a CC record?

I don’t think that it would say that you were rejected from Huntsman and rejected from Wharton. I think it’s legit. I was deferred (waitlisted) until the March decisions, and I applied to M&T. It made no mention of the program or even Wharton, so it’s probably legit. Most likely it’s a test website and somebody messed up and transferred the old link into the new one. Well, at least we can start on our other essays…

From a database perspective, it makes no sense to have a database column with names and import a non-corresponding column of admission statuses. It simply doesn’t make technical sense for a mistake like that to happen. If the names and statuses are paired with numbers, it makes even less sense, especially when considering the fact that our usernames and passwords also are paired to the same set of data.

i finished them all
one good thing about today
i dont have to do anything else
and the waiting starts again

I called the penn admissions office and here’s the story (paraphrased):

Me: I heard the decisions were released early. Is this is true, could you please explain how this happened?

Penn: A non-affiliated service was testing the website by uploading last year’s information. Yes, they did use the current names because those are not liable to change and were therefore uploaded early. The decision letter was last year’s (notice the old dean’s name at the bottom). As for the actual decisions, since those have not been finalized (committees were still meeting today), random decisions were uploaded for the purposes of testing the system. None of the information available on the 3rd party site was factual. You will receive your decision tomorrow at 3pm.

^^^thanks for clearing that up!!

Interesting, but Furda is current Dean of Admissions.

what the hell is going on…

I don’t know, seeing that waitlist (deferral) letter really put me in that negative mindset. Could just be a college trying to cover it’s mistake.

Additionally, the letter said it was for the class of 2013.

i think thats what it is theyre just covering their mistake
but thanks for the glimmer of hope
hope is good

it would make sense for all the formatting to be ready wouldn’t it? just think about it jeez…that stuff WONT CHANGE…btw i didn’t get a chance to see my decision before they pulled it so yeah…this is for those who did and got bad (even positive) results
