similarly, a lack of punctuation, so I have to figure out what your lazy a** is trying to communicate!

Houseguests . . . Seriously - although just trying to be useful. But thank you, you don’t need to venture into my master bathroom, which I admittedly left none to neat in my rush to go to work, to “empty the trash can”. And let’s not even discuss taking my unmentionables off the drying rack in my mud room and folding them and putting them away, and then saying you like my bras where did I get them? That’s just creepy, but thanks for the housekeeping help, I suppose.

^^^^^ ewwwwww . . . .

My boss, who has no clue how to handle employee confidentiality and is creating more problems than he solves by repeating things to other employees that are none of anybody else’s business.

On that note, inserting apostrophes where they are not needed. One sick person=patient. Two sick people=patients, NOT patient’s.

I see this ALL THE TIME.

Nrd, I gripe about that all the time. I’m glad I’m not alone.

^^^^Someone did it in a thread title on this very forum, and my eyes keep going to that word. I think “arghhhhh,” then I wonder what in the heck is the matter with me that I would focus on something so trivial, particularly given that we all make mistakes when typing fast and not paying attention. I also visit a nursing forum, and you rarely see the word “patients.” Posters always write “patient’s.” Occasionally you see “patience.” It drives me crazy, but I guess it’s okay for me to complain about it on this thread. I suppose we have permission here…:)

Social climbers.

My sisters. One who is visiting my mom with her children for ONE HOUR, before she continues to the next city to visit her friends for two days. And the other sister, who insists we all drop everything for big family get togethers, yet never has time to help out with any of the heavy lifting.

Reviving this as I just had a good one happen not too long ago (obviously I use “good” sarcastically)…people who don’t follow the rules of the road, then get angry/upset when you honk at them or otherwise correct them.

I had gone to my bank, a branch of which is inside a large shopping store on a busy parking lot/street. I was making my way out of the parking lot, going straight. I was also driving my parents’ large SUV, so it’s not like I was easy to miss. A woman (driving a similar car, so thank goodness I saw her) decided that she had the right of way, despite the fact that she was turning AND that she had a stop sign, decided that she needed to go *right this second/i, and rolled slightly through the stop sign, then stopped because there was another car waiting to turn (so her racing accomplished…nothing). I tapped my horn, and of course she looked at me in sheer disbelief/irritation and mouthed, “I have right of way.” Errrr…no, you did not. Then, when the car in front of her turned, she graciously waved me forward as if I was the one in the wrong or I was the biggest jerk in the world.

When I got home, my dad told me that since parking lots are private property there is technically no right of way…but still, she should have stopped BEFORE the stop sign, not whenever she decided to.

Argh.

My boss, who contacted me late this afternoon and told me he wants to see me in his office Monday morning … WTH did I do now?

He’s playing with you, right? I worked for someone who loved to do that kind of thing to her subordinates, knowing full well that she was ruining their weekend by making them worry.

footballmom, not to minimize your anxiety, but it could be worse. My SIL got the news of her breast cancer over the phone at 4:15 on a Friday afternoon, and was beezily told to call back Monday morning for more information. Now THAT was a bad weekend!

I have a bad Friday call, too. My secretary was on the way to the surgeon re: a lump in her breast and her husband keeled over at the wheel and died on the way there. Obviously, she missed the apt. and did no call. When she finally made it home late that evening and listened to her messages, she had one from the dr’s office telling her off for blowing off the apt.

Oh, no - what could be more awful? I am so sorry to read about this, tango. Please post an update about your secretary’s condition.

The person who left the message is going to feel dreadful, and justifiably so, when they realize that there was an excellent reason for breaking that appointment.

It annoys me when my friends who I really enjoy and like keep fighting with each other and trying to talk critically about each other to me. I feel as if I’m back in middle school! These are 50-something women with grown kids, careers and – one would think – some maturity.

tango, that’s awful. :(

Omg, tango. That’s awful. A friend of mine lost her son his sr yr of Hs in a car accident coming back to class from an internship. She talked about callin the drs office he had an appt at that afternoon (or the next, I forget) to tell them he wouldn’t be there.

Ab.so.lute.ly everything about my upstairs neighbors.

People who park in the blue striped areas next to accessible parking spots.

The fact that chocolate has calories and fat.

“Captcha” codes, especially trying to input one on a device that tries to auto-correct, and the ones that are impossible to read.

People who are not buying what I’m trying to sell on eBay.

Children who don’t let you know they are not planning on eating dinner at home. The worst offense occurs when they see me actually cooking it and when I tell them it is ready they tell me they aren’t eating but going out with a friend.
