mom60 - I’m with you so much that I wonder if maybe I wrote that one and your name somehow got associated with it!

The other day I called at 3:30 before I left work to get a head count for dinner. Bought $40 worth of steak. Get home no one is here. Text both kids. S1 texts back that he will be home by 6:30. S2 texts that he is playing soccer, might be late for dinner. He comes in as I take the steak off the grill and start slicing it, sweaty and disgusting, and says he is showering and then going out for dinner with the guys he played soccer with.

And god forbid anyone would actually eat the leftovers the next day!!!

Traffic jams. 95% of the time, it’s caused by idiots who can’t drive. If the sign says “road ending in 1 mile” don’t wait until the very last possible second to get over thus causing everyone else to hit their brakes. Don’t stop and stare at construction or an accident.

Parents who do not deserve to be parents (see rant thread for details lol).

Mom60 how about this one? DH & I going out for dinner on a Saturday night and college grad who just moved back home saying, “there’s NOTHING for dinner???”. Nope, there is not.

I had one come to me just a few minutes ago as I was driving.

There is a 4-way stop here in town that has a little bit of an odd set up. It has a right-turn lane and a left turn/straight lane. That left turn/straight lane actually requires you to move left while the right turn lane is straight ahead. It clearly says “right turn lane must turn right.” You wouldn’t believe how often you see a car go straight ahead from that right turn lane OR I’ve even seen people turn left out of that right turn lane! It’s not that hard to figure out…

People in our community garden who don’t do anything communal. Three of us are lugging in wood chips for the central path, and someone else comes in, says hello, and doesn’t help? Hangs around for two hours and doesn’t help? I try not to judge, but you’re making it very hard. Leech.

College graduates not knowing the difference words: alumnus, alumni, alumna, alumnae. It drives me semi-nuts when someone announces they are an alumni of their college.

Here’s my annoyance: Bringing in three baskets of clothes to fold while the family watches our latest DVD selection, and no one getting on the floor to help me fold.

Then they have the nerve to tell me to slow down, take it easy.

Hello, the dishes don’t unload themselves and the laundry doesn’t wash itself!

Sitting in a salon for a hair “trim”, specifically stating I wish to have 1/2 inch off, and leaving the salon an hour later with less hair than my son! Do they teach this in hair cutting school???

Husbands that play 18 holes of golf every Saturday and Sunday, eat lunch (and have a beer) with the foursome, come home about 2 and then sit on a couch and turn on GOLF every flipping weekend. Meanwhile, the wife (who works full time, btw) has been driving the kids around, cleaning the house, running the family errands, and going to church alone every flipping weekend. Noone here will be buying “world’s best dad” cards for Father’s Day!

People that judge other people’s relationships while not knowing the couple. Or hell, even if they do. As long as people are safe and happy, butt out.
