<p>Express curiosity about the surrounding area; in Ithaca, you have some unusual geology (Finger Lakes) and sociology/social history. The residential community of Ithaca, NY, is unusual; does that affect Cornell in positive ways? I had read that many people from the '60’s with social ideals settled around there. As an example, Mollie Katzen (author of Moosewood Cookbook, a best-selling vegetarian cookbook) now has a beautiful restaurant in the town of Ithaca. It’s an unusual question, but only ask if you’re really interested in the answer!.
Go onto Craigslist and look up Ithaca, see what you pick up</p>
