<p>After a lot of personal debate, I am pretty darn sure that I am going to Amherst College. And I am absolutely enthralled. As a Tennessean who has only dreamed of visiting the northeast, what are your favorite things about Massachusetts or New England in general? What are some must-do/ must-see/ must-eat things?</p>
<p>On word–autumn. You will be in awe as the mountains that ring the Pioneer valley turn brilliant red and orange next October. Nothing like autumn in New England. Go on youtube and find Cheryl Wheeler’s “When Fall Comes To New England”. Tune captures New England autumn perfectly. Did I mention I love autumn???</p>

<p>Amherst College is a great school. Very hard to get into. I am in SC and going to school up north too. I am picking between Holy Cross and Providence College. HC is better school then PC but the cost might be a factor. I received a $18,000 a year scholarship ($72,000 total) from PC and HC does not give out merit scholarship. I am waiting on my need based aid from HC but I do not think that I will receive any money because of my parents income. It will be $57,000 at HC vs $39,000 at PC. </p>
